Re: vs DARLINGTON
Could be 5 up then again they could have had 2 or 3 on the break. Should win this 3 or 4 really 2nd half. Good crowd as well.
|
Re: vs DARLINGTON
Evening folks (sorry Kiwi, good morning to you) - just settled down to follow the second half on the net + sky sports news. Pity Doug has had the call of duty, can't find a live radio commentary. If we can convert the superiority into a few more goals then we might retain some of the extra paying customers. Like Chimer I'm treading eggshells while its still only one up.
|
Re: vs DARLINGTON
3228 according to BBC
|
Re: vs DARLINGTON
Morning/evening LLS... yea could do with a couple of goals as a cushion...

Re: vs DARLINGTON
Stats on FOOTY 365 would suggest those buggers from Darlington are getting back into the game...

Re: vs DARLINGTON
No way I was going to post when we got back in front - until now - yee hah!
And that's my first ever 5-pointer in Jimbo's league! |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
third straight win but squeaky bum time on the way !
|
Re: vs DARLINGTON
attendance tonight - your thoughts please ladies and gents....
I am chuffed to bits - must have been some new fans on tonight maybe we'll see them again. And huge thanks to bury and any other teams' fans for coming. Hope they enjoyed the show |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
Just got back could have gone either way second half
3200 and odd on good atmosphere with quite a few Bury and Burnley fans on as well as a few other different shirts in the crowd. Can I just ask how you can sit down behind the goal ? Some jobsworth said we needed tickets  so we had to stand (which I prefered but the wife was miffed :D). Overall a good night ;) |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
t more work he crowd ? - I think that local regulars have done a fantastic job to bring about an increase of around 2000 and cockles have been duly warmed by non-Stanley fans coming to our aid. Would have loved to have sampled the Crown atmosphere tonight.
Obviously a lot more money to raise, but what an off-field team we have ! Lets hope the momentum can be maintained and the on-field tem 'catch the fire'. From a distance I can only fight with my cheque book and read about the frontline camaraderie up yon. |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
Brilliant atmosphere, some fans I know who came for the game want to come when their first teams aren't playing.
Up the Reds! |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
first line of previous post seems to have got scrambled - can't repeat as don't recall what I said - not touched a drop yet, honest. Good exposure on skysports news tonight - what do you all reckon to regular Friday home games ?
|
Re: vs DARLINGTON
Good 3 pts won tonight as Yonmon says ON STANLEY ON.:)

Re: vs DARLINGTON
Hit the post and bar on 5 seperate occasions, yes 2nd half was squeaky bum time, but the important thing is we got 3 points and decent crowd of 3228, even if we keep 10 of those who came tonight, then move all home matches to Friday night please. Good idea to put the away fans in the cow shed so some could sit and other stand in the coppice corner of the Whinney Hill side. Please do that again, although please keep Mick Shultz informed, he was pulling what hair he had left because no-one from the club had told him until this morning that was the plan of action for supporters. Could and should have put Darlington outa sight in the first half and the equaliser was sloppy defending. But be positive, 3 points is what matters and a boost towards survival. On Stanley On again and again.

Re: vs DARLINGTON
My first Stanley match approx. 7yrs ago I supported a prem team. The bug got me and I'm Stanley till I die.
I wonder and hope this has happened to others at the game tonight. |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
What a good night and a good result, ultras never stopped singing again, lots of new faces, lots of young kids for the future. Does anyone know what ticket(s) won the bucket draw? Kee made the difference, I thought Dunbavin looked a bit shakey but overall a fair team performance against poor opposition.
|
Re: vs DARLINGTON
Thanks to all who came, it was a really good atmosphere.
We deserved our win and I thought Andy Procter was brilliant. I'm happy for Billy Kee, hopefully tonight's was the first of many. Well done Reds. |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
I missed all of the second; hoped for BBC Lancs Coverage in the car, but no.....But not to worry, 2 -1 on the day and a fantastic crowd to boot. On Stanley On, and may they all come back again.
On Stanley....fight On.... |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
Posted via Mobile Device great nite even tho had to shout about the hoofing tho, thats where we lost a bit, we play better on the floor. But a strong performance and never give up was the kee hehe sorry to pun it lol. Couldn't hear any tannoy announcements the ultras n clayton end drowned it out completely lol.

Re: vs DARLINGTON

Re: vs DARLINGTON
Symes Darlo Paper's Man of the Match.
http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/spo..._Darlington_1/ Very pleased for him that he is doing so well. We appear to play in a much improved way with him in the team which appears to be contributing to our good form now as it did crucially last season. |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
seems a pretty fair report from darlington, the scoring out of 10 fer stanley i can agree also.

Re: vs DARLINGTON
Absolutely agree, Yonman, Lees was very impressive (was that his home debut , I've been hols ?). He reminds me of a young Keith Newton if that is not too much praise at this stage of his career. Always pressing forward. I like that back line of Lees, Edwards, Kempson, Winnard - has the makings of a solid back four.
Also thought Symes played well holding up the ball and bringing other players into play. He had a great chance in the second half and he really deserved a goal but he seemed too eager and blasted the ball to err ...Rishton, I think. Anyway, was impressed with his play , he looked much more confident than the last time I saw him. Must also mention Miles. He had one of those games where every time he got the ball it looked like something was gonna happen. He set up the first goal for Procter and on a several of occasions he went charging at the opposition with bewildering footwork. Love it when he plays like that he's great to watch. One of these days he's gonna score a corker that we'll remember for a long time |

I wished i could of been there mate! bet the atmosphere was something in itself 3000 people. But i would of never of made it, because of the train times. Course there will be others QPR was a quality night! Christmas games i'll be at!
|
Re: vs DARLINGTON
Acci should not really conceed many goals from corners or set pieces as they have a back four of centre backs !.Regarding the left back position, there is nobody else to play there at present due to injuries etc..
Deanos prefered position is at sweeper\midfield holding role, but edwards and joyce are playin great at the moment, he will have to wait his chance. Talking to him last week,he said hes only played fullback half a dozen times in his career upto this season,so its a massive learning curve for him,but hes loving it ! |
Re: vs DARLINGTON
Taken from a thread on Qatcake fanzine-Stoke city BY A Stoke fan...I had a really enjoyable evening sitting next to the dugouts. Some of the industrial language coming from the mouths of Coleman and Windass was very entertaining- especially when Colin Todd told JC to stop swearing. http://s1.images.proboards.com/grin.gif
A well deserved victory but it was very nearly a harsh lesson of taking your chances- it should have been about 5-0 at half time!! All the best. |

his comments last year did lack some sort of understanding of where we had come from and what we were struggling to acheive. However his articles are well written and reasonably funny. I wonder what he'll make of grounds in the Conference next year?
