If we get two thirds of the support we got last Friday, then it must be viewed a success. If however, we match or better that crowd, then lets play all our home matches on a Friday night, even if I cannot make some of them due to work commitments. To quote our antipodean friend "Good on Yer Stanley"

I think most Alex fans will still come as it's a new ground for them.

Would've thought we wouldn't lose that many Alex fans, as it's only about 50 miles to come, isn't it? If it was a southern team, it might be different.

It's worth a try to see if we can pull some of the casual fans in that we did last Friday. Maybe we could promote it along the lines of "Your two-club weekend starts here...watch Stanley on Friday, watch your first team on Saturday, an action-packed weekend of football"...or am I getting too carried away, as usual? ;)

Posted via Mobile Device Think its a good move, yeah i will probably be able to make this one too lol. Dont think it would bear too much on alex fans, like its been said new ground to them, who knows they may chuck a bit of change in a bucket adding the football focus too :)

Really looking forward to this fixture. It shows just how far our football has come (since the historic cup match 17 years ago).

Why not introduce a slightly different element into the proceedings........

I think it maybe nearer 65/70 miles WH ;) :) I agree with the "New Ground" aspect and I hope that most people still come, but if the overall crowd is higher then it is a good move :) :)

I sure some of us would'nt mind coming to a Bury game when Stanley arn't playing?? Should start it as an ongoing thing.

Plenty of spare seat in the South Stand:p:p:p

It would be nice to see teams like Morecambe, Bury, Stanley, Crewe maybe even Rochdale all helping each other out despite the rivalry between us.

Mind you we won't have to worry bout Dale when they Merge with Oldham:D

Sadly with the game now a day before i think that will shave atleast 200 off our away support as quite alot of our fans go via train and its not possible to get back to Crewe via train after the match.

I reckon we will only take around 300 to your place now. Maybe a few more although we did take 1,200 to Shrewsbury on Saturday.

Good luck with the fundraising!

Not possible? What is up with you lot? 10.13 from Accy to Preston, 10.49 from Preston to Manchester Piccadilly, 11.53 from Piccadilly to Chester, have a leisurely stroll round Chester, then 4.23 from Chester, arriving back in Crewe at 4.44.

That is great to hear!!...and take no notice of those who would constantly seek to cause slight irritation to opposition Fans by troublesome, often repeated, yet light, and may I say, innocent playful banter. In these troublesome times any thread which prompts some degree of levity is welcomed with open arms, I can tell you!!!.

I do not know why?? You played some good football today and on any other day it would have been 5 - 2

I went today with a friend of mine, who has been a Shots fan for 46 years, he agrees with me that The Alex played some good footy today and were electric at getting from back to front. A phrase I used at full time was "Daylight Robbery" and he agreed and we both have no doubts as to where you will be come May 2010.

Get as many Railway Men as you can to The Crown on Friday, you will not regret it.

To be honest, I can't see it being many more than the usual for a Friday night game. If it was another local club in our position I might go to see them once, but I wouldn't keep paying to go.
Added to that I feel as if the impetus has been lost over the last week, so the issue doesn't feel as immediate as it did do.

Sad gets who asked if you were Geordies, Sunderland are Mackemers and take being asked if they are geordies as a personal insult.
