This weeks Observer

This weeks observer is full of our current plight.

Pg 4, all about Peter Marsden and Ilyas Etc.

Pg 5, Question and Answer with David O'Neil, 12 very pointed questions.

Lots more at the back.

I do feel that DON skirted round the questions like a politician to be honest. IMHO.

One point that stood out.. Question 4 was about the £150,000 owed to eric whalley ? The DON confirmed this as a directors loan. ?????? why ????? My thoughts are,,, write it of.... Eric owes us at least that....

I dont think that EW owes us anything to be honest but that's a whole different story.

up until June there were no directors loans. Therefore this has been added since then so must somehow tie up with the sale of the club. I don't know how this all stacks up but I dont like it. There's something not right

The DOn also confirmed that the paperwork regarding the buy out of erics shares has not yet been sent to companies house ?

WHY ???????????????????????????????????

DON says he put £100,000 into the club, then £50,000.

A debt of £150,000 to EW has appeared.

Could there be any connection?

Re: This weeks Observer

I can understand that EW would not be willing to sign over the shares without getting his £150K therefore it would be reasonable that the Don cannot submit the paperwork for the shares to be registered in his name.

My question is, why has the Don not registered himself or Marcelle as directors of Accrington Stanley FC. One would assume that you must be a director in order to be a chairman or in this case joint chairman.

If this person is not registered as a director then how can he be classed as a chairman, following that how can he be making decisions that affect the club. He has been making decisions since July 09 or even before then.

 If and its a BIG IF the club had a spare £150k knocking about wouldn't you think the Taxman would have come first before anything else!!:(

Re: This weeks Observer

What it suggests to me is that EW put a short term loan of £150k into the coffers prior to or shortly after leaving under a Directors Loan Account; therefore he is entitled to ask for this money back. From my point of view the sooner this is paid the better; at least then we can make a fresh start once we get to the other side of the little crises…

In respect of Mr. O’Neil and the delectable Ms. Lazarus I have little doubt that this is a self preservation matter, if you aren’t a registered director you won’t suffer the penalties effect of the winding up other. Let’s face it if you bought the club knowing you could be tits up (forgive me Marcella) in a matter of month would you want to be one…… (I do sincerely hope I’m wrong) If the intention is to register for a directorship there’s no reason why he can’t be chairmen and lady chair, after all he owns the club.

Is it possible that the DON hasn't actually put any money into the club? I know it probably sounds daft, I have just noticed that in the statement he issued on Monday he quoted that he had put £100k in plus another £50k which makes £150k. Could this be the £150k that is on the directors loan account on the balance sheet? What I'm getting at is that the DON agreed with EW that he would take on the debt and pay him £150k on top to buy his shareholding thus creating a directors loan?:idunno:
