A little message to the SOS fund manager.

Please get a grip and keep the fund update daily, even if nothing comes in. at the moment it looks like we are falling away and that the view people/donators may be. “Why put any more in, nothings happening; I’ll just be wasting my Money” psychologically every single penny will count, get out and start collecting from fund raisers, don’t sit and wait for then to come to you.

Don’t make the mistake of thinking that delaying updates will galvanise people into giving; it won’t it will do the opposite.

We need a big push now; it’s not just for the tax bill at the end of the day, it’s to take us beyond that and on into the future

Get moving and get pro-active

Agreed. How many more times do we have to say this?

This is one reason why so many of us have so little confidence in the abilities of the powers-that-be at ASFC. Leadership skills, initiative, vision, Google Page Ranking awareness - all sadly lacking.

Im also fed up with the lack of 'enthusiasm' coming out of fortress crown, but am rapidly coming round to thinking we could scream till we were blue in the face (some of us have!) yet still no one at the club appears to give a toss............all they seem to want is for us to give, give, and give again, yet will not return the compliment.

I have made the decision that NO MORE cash will flow from my household into the SOS fund, after all why should I make the effort when the powers that be cant be arsed?

Yes I'm peed off, and angry..................COME ON YOU MUPPETS GET A MOVE ON

Rob Hays was on the radio last night and said again that the total was over £100,000, so why doesn't the chart reflect that?

I don't think many Rovers fans are interested. I was talking to a couple of my neighbours last night who are Rovers' fans and they didn't know about it.

Outback Ozzy 14-10-2009 10:51

Re: A little message to the SOS fund manager.

Well with Rob Heys stating on 2BR last night that the figures for the Rovers game would be announced this morning - you would have thought that the totaliser would have been updated by now - c'mon aat least give us the true figure - including all the other fund raisers that have been acknowledged on the fishy site.

So much for the much appreciated/maligned Rob Heys. quote We will have the receipt totals for the Rovers match tomorrow unquote. Still no movement on totaliser. Its all a con.

It's not a con; it is however, idle and stupid of the club to delay updates in this manner; the debt is paid but funds will still need to be collected for many months to come if we are to ensure our long term future. (my Opinion)

Doug, what do you mean "the debt is paid"? Have I missed something?

Its yet another example that some at the club don't care enough about the fans who are donating money to tell them how much they have by updating it.

As Redraine says, where is this fantastic news, Doug? Does this mean the court appearance has been cancelled?

would love too see how the total has changed over the last 9 days ????????????

Re: A little message to the SOS fund manager.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm starting to think that there is something very odd about the failure to update the total.

Re: A little message to the SOS fund manager.

Doug referred a couple of days ago to the debt having 'been paid'... what does that mean cause I've not seen anything ?.. or like REDRAINE says "Have I missed something?"

Doug 17-10-2009 09:22

Re: A little message to the SOS fund manager.

Should we assume that the need to Donate/Fund raise is now over; it’s now the 17th October 2009, ten days from the last update so it would appear that any urgency to continue as passed. I only ask this because the money I’ve been sending each week is money that I would have normally bought a bottle of Grouse with; so if you arrogant bastards at the Club don’t want it I will be going out to get a bottle when I go shopping this afternoon instead of paypal in over my gate fee and for this point on all other donations from me will be going to Cancer Research and Help For Heroes.

My apologies John, Valerian and others this was a miss use of words in the excitement of day, what I meant to say is that now funds are at hand, the worry is all but over and we can be happy. Still looking at the current Total for the SOS fund it might be all bollocks

Why, it’s nice and mallow and at £20 a litre it’s not bad….Better than the £40 75cl bottle of 18 year old Single Malt I developed a taste for last Christmas; no wonder I’m nearly bankrupt….:D

Doug read this its hidden in the story half way down Accrington Stanley in talks over buying back Crown Ground (From Lancashire Telegraph)

With two weeks left in which to pay off a £308,000 tax bill, Mr Heys revealed that local businessmen have offered the club short-term loans of £50,000, added to £150,000 in donations and £100,000 invested by directors including joint chairman Dave O’Neill.
So the club has been saved using borrowed money.

When does it have to be paid back and where will they find the money?

When will the next court case be with the tax man for the outstanding tax since the unpaid £308,000?

Re: A little message to the SOS fund manager.
