Vigilantes......
I would urge anyone to think before taking any action. Graffiti in the club is not on, that is still OUR Accrington Stanley & our ground. Banners can be made that get the message across.....(that can be removed when needed!)
Again, threats to Rob Heys & David O'Neill at work or at home is NOT the way forward. This was reiterated by the messiah himself last night. We want a stonger ASFC in the long term & as long as no man or organisation has 51% then we will have that! There will be time for protests, believe me, but in the correct manner. We are Stanley;not some Victorian peasants with sticks on a witch hunt! Get behind the players & be proud that ASFC is in the safe hands of our guardian angel Mr Khan. |
Re: Vigilantes......
anyone even contemplating vigilante action ARE NOT real stanley fans but HOOLIGANS.
|
Re: Vigilantes......
Top post WM, as you say use the banners and even the songs, but causing damage, will just result in costing the club twice, as any monies spent to put it right, will not go to moving the club forward.
Most of us are annoyed to say the least, but let's not bring more shame on our club. :) |
Re: Vigilantes......
Blimey that is sad & hope people heed this message & would be the same on this forum too personal insults or threats will be removed also could result in bans. Hope they catch who done it as its well out of order, think the current heads already know the feelings raised by the sensible & orderly way there is no need to get really personal at all, Ilyas also wishes that we calm our emotions & get on with keeping the faith & furthing the clubs future.

Re: Vigilantes......
True Words Willie...Whilst we long for a change for things to be done 'Right and Proper'....then we too must do things 'Right and Proper'...
Too many situations have done untold damage to the Club over the past Months...and the very last thing we need is the slightest whiff of scandal and wrong-doing !. I too heard Ilyas' advice last night !...Change will come...but it has to be to the Club's advantage...not it's Shame...'ON STANLEY...ON!!' |
Re: Vigilantes......
Where's this come from? Have there been incidents?
|
Re: Vigilantes......
Trouble is certainly with football - too many hoollies think they can jump on the bandwagon & use a perfectly respectable protest to air their criminality, trouble is it can tar us all.

plenty of banners and plenty of protest with a big dose of the truth and the facts.
Lets get rid of o'neill and Heys the right way. Dave O'neill is not my chairman, Iylas Khan is. |

What has been done ????
|
Re: Vigilantes......
I agree with every post that has been made about the person who did this.
it was me. I hadn't intended to do anything and disagree with anybody who thinks it is a good idea. The way it happened was that I had decided i wanted to sleep on the Clayton End as it may (or may not) have been the last time the ground was in that condition. Drunk and emotional I climbed over the fence to make my way to the clayton end. Whilst doing so I looked all around the ground and probably spent quite some time reflecting on everything I had witnessed there over the years. I happened across a can of spray paint and had a moment of weakness. I sprayed 'time to go' in 6" letters across the bit of wall that leads into the Gazelle Lounge. I then went to the Clayton End and tried to get to sleep after texting the first ten people in my phone to tell them where I was - including Dave O'Neil. I am by no means making excuses for what happened just explaining why it happened. I have spoken to Mick Schultz this morning and Dave O'Neil to apologise. I have also sent an email to Dave and Rob to explain and admit in full. I have also offered to reimburse whoever cleaned it up and have offered a case of stewards hi-viz vests as further apology. The matter is now being dealt with by Dave and the police. I offer my full apologies to all those fans who have acted in a way that hasn't caused any more upset or damage than necessary. It goes without saying that it won't happen again (by me) and I would implore everybody else to continue to act in a responsible and well behaved manner - it will get us nowhere. If members of the OSC and ASSF feel that I brought either organisation into disrepute then I will resign my position (it is only right). Please contact me by email, phone or PM to let me know. Once again, sorry to everybody who I have let down - including myself. Rob |
Re: Vigilantes......
Rob you have done what a lot of people felt like doing at the time, its easy to see red mist with the events that took place.
Well done for being honest about your actions, its a pity other people did not come clean, which led you to take such actions. I forgive you CLAYTON RED |
Re: Vigilantes......
OK, Rob, you let your heart rule your head and did something stupid, but top marks for being totally honest about it. As Clayton says, it might have been better if others in the club had been as painfully frank as you.
|
Re: Vigilantes......
Got to agree with Clayton Red Macca, yes it was bloody stupid to say the least but at least you've had the guts to own up & apologise and have tried to atone for your actions.
I think we can all understand how you were feeling at the time and my personal opinion is that I don't think there is any need for you to resign although that is your decision. |
Re: Vigilantes......
Were you anywhere near the gents when the words 'time to go' sprang to mind? if so I'm sure a good yuman rights lawyer could sort things out.

Re: Vigilantes......
Isn't about time we all calmed down and started to put this hideous episode in the club's history behind us.
Peolpe are being worked up into a frenzy and normally sensible individuals are saying and doing very regretable things. The club is safe Ilyas and Peter have seen to that and we are all very grateful for their generosity and dedication to the club. Repay them by behaving like civilised members of the public. Get behind the team, Ilyas, Peter and Dave can discuss the future running of the club and we must get behind them all in encouraging them to make the best descision for Accrington Stanley, not threatening and barracking. Come on people let's show the world that it is a better place because Accrington Stanley is still around because at the moment alot of folk must be wondering why they bothered helping to save us. Macca you must be applauded for your honesty and your willingness to accept what may lie in store for you as a result of your actions. I hope you will become a better person because of this, I don't think you are that bad a guy to start with everyone has had a stressful and emotional time because of this but now we must take a deep breath swallow hard and work together to make a better future for our club. |
Re: Vigilantes......
well Rob very emotional post you did BUT you vandalised the ground illegally you entered the groud illegally you went too far , no one else has done anything like that and WE ALL feel confused but there are other ways !!! sorry mate it was wrong!!!

Re: Vigilantes......
Everybody makes mistakes in their lives; it's how you deal with those mistakes, and atone for them that matters.
To own up, here, to making such a mistake shows a strength of character, and a real degree of remorse for actions carried out. It would have been very easy to have just kept quiet and let it blow over. |

Rob I won't repeat what I said in the txt, I hope you get at last 150 hours community service under Mick Schultz.
It takes a big man to do what you did (after the event) and despite being what I said, I sincerely hope that the club can take it on the chin. |
Re: Vigilantes......
Hmmm painting on a wall thats terrible I wonder what you get for being negligent with the actual running of the club and nearly getting it closed down twice, thats what has led to passions being this high in the first place.
|
Re: Vigilantes......
emotions always get the better of us right or wrong it just shows the passion rob has got for the club he has sacrificed more than most for stanley time and effort with the supporters club .weve all done something through passion we have regretted so i think rob should be forgiven.after all it wasnt mindless it was driven by passion.
|
Re: Vigilantes......
No right to comment on ASSF, but for my money you don't get out of Chairman of the OSC that easily :D
|
Re: Vigilantes......
Rob, there but for a bl==dy long way from Selsey go I. Guess most can be pushed into hearts ruling brains on occassions -it's done now so don't let it drag you down mate.
|
Re: Vigilantes......
respect for coming on here and confronting your actions.
|
Re: Vigilantes......
I think Rob has had the courage to own up for what he has done and will make amends for what he has done, therefore why are we going on about this, lets put it behind us and look to the future with Rob still as the chairman of the OSC and a member of the ASSF. I for one do not believe that anyone else at the moment could have done or will do as good a job as Rob has been doing.
We need all the good people with passion and pride to get Stanley back on its feet. I for one am fully behind keeping Rob at the forefront of the OSC and as an active member of the ASSF and hopefully a future mover and shaker for getting the Supporters Trust up and running. |
Re: Vigilantes......
who is going on about it phoenix? Rob asked fer comments, all i have read whilst not condoning, fully understand how it came about,
|
Re: Vigilantes......
Silly,but with full transperency.
Forgiven. |
Re: Vigilantes......
rob i know your passion for stanley you did the wrong thing but in life we all make mistakes the things you have done for the club more then make up for this one mistake i forgive you On Stanley On :D
|
Re: Vigilantes......
Well Mr Russell, in my opinion you are a trespassing vandal, you broke onto the ground and de-faced property you then feel that a box of high viz vests and half harted appologies will make things better. You have been spouting now for weeks about how you and your followers want to save the club, its a good job Mr Hayes and Mr O'Neill have a little more self restraint. You should be arrested and banned for life, I just hope that you are made an example of and that the night you spent in the clayton end is in fact the last time you ever get onto the crown ground again....True fans of Accrington Stanley would never think of doing something like that, and as for casually walking past a tin of spray paint? what a load of garbage.......You'll be telling me next that Whinstanley was stood there gauding you on....
|
Re: Vigilantes......
Kenny, if your post is a light hearted one and meant as a joke, then fine, but if you are serious, then you are talking utter garbage! To say that macca is not a true fan!!!! And where do you get half hearted apology from???
|
Re: Vigilantes......
no he wasn't Kenny - he was with the rest of the management supporting some fundraising function or other
|
Re: Vigilantes......
Stay put Rob, you are a decent bloke and I know the passion you have for Stanley, I would have done the same for the cricket club, sometimes your heart rules your head. Nowt to be ashamed of, you have owned up and will be man enough to take the consequences. :mosher:
|
Re: Vigilantes......
In the heat of the moment people can do silly things, I don't condone what Rob has done
But at least he had the Balls to own up to it, feelings and tensions have been running high for weeks surrounding the Club, given Rob's passion for everything Stanley and the fact sometimes people make mistakes his apology is good enough for me. |

If the trespassing vandal had been just a general fan and not the chairman from the SOS fund, would all you people be so quick to accept his apology.... No I think not, double standards.

I too spoke to macca before the post, yes silly yet understandable why, he accepted his punishments and has sincerely opologised. Now its between him and the club. Good job it was a reasonably mild nite the clayton end mustn't of been comfortable lol. So dont think it needs to get personal at all, over & done with.

Yes what He did was very wrong, but He has at least had the decency to own up and is willing to face the consequences of His actions.................it is just a shame that the persons concerned in almost putting this great club out of business for a second time cant bring themselves to do likewise. Perhaps Kenny254, when you go in to work tommorrow (I am assuming that you work for the club by the tone of your post) you might point this out to DON et all. Otherwise, go away, grow up, and try and get a life. |

What was done was done...everyone has been informed of the facts by Rob!... and the consequences will follow in due course...!! Until that happens this duplication of what has already been said over and over in his defence or in criticism of his behaviour is a complete waste of time and effort !!....and what is more will serve no purpose whatsoever !!. |
