Thanksgiving!..
 

It was a wonderful feeling this afternoon to stand alongside all my friends at 'The Crown', and to feel the real spirit of thanksgiving which abounded at the realisation that our great Club had survived what was a very real threat to it's existence !!..
BUT...this feeling was tempered by seeing the faces of Young Cadets and some elderly Veterans of World Conflict leading the Teams on to the Field of Play.
This reminded me that a greater Thanksgiving was due to so many Men and Women, some who we know and remember, others who are total strangers to us, who made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of Freedom .

Friends...You know that I would not hi-jack our Forum with unnecessary trivia..and I hope that you will recognise my intent within this one-off posting !

I have closed many of my latest threads with the admonition...'Lest we forget'..

In asking you all to spare at least one thought on the morrow for the importance of November 11th...I use these words again in sincerity and humility..

'LEST WE FORGET !!'

Well said, yonmon. Regardless of where we fall on the political spectrum, each of us should do our part in our own way to acknowledge a debt that can never be repaid.
