Do the profits go to O'neill?
Is the club still honouring the season ticket vouchers?

Geezzzz,,couldn't have timed this any closer..I'm shortly (about an hour) to leave for Wellington for tonights World Cup play-off vs BAHRAIN and I was intending to buy the NZ replica shirt..that money will now be re directed for this new STANLEY shirt. As spare funds for these things are a little scarce, the timing of this announcement couldn't have been tighter from my point of view. A STANLEY shirt over my countrys shirt is a defo.

Does special dispensation have to be sought to launch a new kit through the season?

As far as I know there is a rule that you can only wear a different kit for one game per season, but it could be if thats a totally different strip. I'm guessing that the new strip is effectively the same as the old one, or as you suggest special dispensation has been granted.

shakermaker 13-11-2009 18:11

Re: New Kit!

Will the people who sponsored home shirts have their sponsorship truncated half way through the season (given the old/current shirt and new sponsors taken for the new kit) or will their sponsorship be transferred on to the new kit?

Unless they have been out and bought some new equipment then I'm pretty sure most households have a trained operative for one of these ;)

Having seen that for the first time, I'd agree Redraine, but for the sponsor looks like the shrimpers home togs !!!

That said might confuse Muller's and Craney when they play in't Derby game !!:D

Re: New Kit!

I like it even if it is Charltons old kit and looks like Morecambes. Its better than that plain old Prostar one we have now - I like the Accy Stanley lettering on the back - bit like the surridge one which I thought was very nice :) Anyway I will be getting one when I come back for the Barnet game but I think Ive missed something - why are we getting a new home strip when we are only a third the way through the season?? Bit unusual...

Presumably the contract with Prostar has ben cancelled. Selling a clubs shirt on e-bay by the manufacturer may have contributed to that, but of course we don't know why they did it

Oh right - sounds interesting! Well this Joma top looks much better anyway... I will part with 40 spots for one but I wouldnt part with that for the Prostar one - sorry.

The new kit looks much better than the current one. Does anyone know what the craic is with the Industry & Prudence Conquer motto - or lack thereof? Can anyone decipher what that is in its place?

New Kit Launch

Accrington Stanley Football Club proudly announce the official launch and sale of the new home jersey on Tuesday 24th November 2009 at the Crown Ground.

The new jersey, supplied by Spanish kit supplier Joma, will be on sale from Tuesday evening before next week’s home league fixture against Macclesfield Town. The home jersey, which will be worn for the remainder of the 2009/10 season and all of the 2010/11 season, is priced at £40 for adults and £30 for juniors. We will also have a range of other sporting apparel on sale from Tuesday, with more seasonal wear coming in stock over the next few weeks, such as winter jackets, polo shirts and tracksuits along with this season’s range of ski hats and scarf’s.

Joma first came onto the UK scene when they signed Charlton Athletic as a club in 2003. They have since added Championship sides Leicester City and Watford as clubs but Accrington Stanley are the first of Joma’s clubs from the North of England. Joma have quite a presence in Spain including 2006 UEFA Cup winners, Sevilla FC, as their headline club, along with Sevilla FC star Freddie Kanoute as one of their profile players.

The new Joma jersey can also be purchased as part of Accrington Stanley’s share issue package. For full details on the share issue package please click here.

For further information on the kit launch next Tuesday please contact the club on 0871 434 1968.

One BIG error, there. Could've ran it at £25 in the weeks leading up to Christmas or something.

I suppose the club will say they need to maximise the sales as much as possible but what a lost opportunity for building some bridges. Stanley fans have forked out a fortune over the past couple of months ( I couldn't afford to be a Stanley fan :D ), and it would have been a great gesture to make a limited period special offer price. Even more annoying would be if you are one of those who bought a new shirt in recent weeks

Maybe they could have done a p/ex on anyone who has bought a Prostar shirt :)

Willie Miller 16-11-2009 22:30

Re: New Kit!

If I had any input in the commercial side of ASFC, the first thing I would do is plaster our shirt with sponsors..... Not even new money, just freebies to some of the people/companies that have been missold over the years....

Loads of foreign shirts have sponsors on the arm, under over the number, shorts, etc etc

Good call Jase.
The FA have relaxed the rules on sponsorship in recent years and im sure the manufacturer can come up with novel ways to add sponsor names/logos.
