Stan the Monkey was today crowned the 2004 Royal Lancashire Mascot champion... Story on front page of official Accy website and pictures from the race and from the Royal Lancashire agricultural society show are on my website now.

how did you manage to get time of work to go to the show?


I used to like going to the show even without any agriculture, over the last 7 or so years , but now it is on weekdays only I am stumped

Its the summer holidays mate... fifty thousand other people as well. I took Julie and the kids... The mascot event was in aid of the NSPCC

I was just meaning that if they revert to having one day at the weekend I could go!!

Thats not the event where they do the hare-coursing thing is it? Please tell me it isn't?!

I like a nice bit of jugged hare but no that is the National Hare coursing championships ar Altcar

Glad to hear it! Wouldn't want our mascot being associated with that kind of stuff.....I'm no veggie but have never tried rabbit or hare myself.

That should raise the profile a bit.

I don't think they have monkeys at Altcar apart from the ALF
