I have never seen a worse referee.

****ing robbed, we were playing 10-13 the whole game Miles should never have been sent off it wasn't a stamp at all he was trying to stop but momentum took him, the defender didn't even claim it was a foul.

I honestly think the officials have been paid off it wasn't just mistakes there were too many and too blatant.

So angry

Thanks for your concern guys - no hockey but taken shopping :(. Thought that would be enough to sort the result as a reward, and we were 2-1 up on the last telly I saw in town. Got home and the first thing I heard was my sis on the answerphone - one word message "b*gg*r" ! (and she's over 70 and shouldn't talk like that :)) So I kinda guessed what I was going to find ....

Trip to Barnet may be on the cards shortly ....

What a travesty of justice. The 10 men outplayed Barnet for nearly all the match. Can someone tell me why the penalty was given, and please don't let it be for a shirt pull, as Symes was having his tugged all through the game with nowt given. Grant and Symes were magic but Symes is solid gold. Don't worry - with 11 men we can take this lot, no problem, but if McConville had sqared the ball to Symes it would have been all over at 3-1.

not just that it was 10 men against 12 fer the biggest part of the game, that ref is either totally incompetant or on a backhander take yer pick.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

It was for the "pulled shirt" the one that the ref was right next to and ignored, as he had ignored it happening to Symes all game. The linesman gave the penalty after their manager ran on the ****ing pitch. The same ****ing linesman that got Grant booked when their winger performed a dive worthy of an oscar right in front of him. It should have been a booking to their man, if it wasnt it should have been a throw in, but not only did the ref give a free kick he booked Grant for the ****ing privilege. Those two men should not be allowed within 3 miles of a football pitch. All this about a ****ing respect campaign how about they respect the players and the fans and officiate the game fairly. Still angry

Re: FAC vs Barnet

The referee had a good first half and I was hopimg for more of the same. However he started to lose control of the game towards the end and we paid the price for his incompetence. We're still in the F.A. Cup although it'll be a lot harder to get through with away at Barnet.
But the most annoying thing was Jake Cole celebrating in front of the Stanley fans when his team had been given another chance to get through at the hands of an overwhelmed referee.

Well said Sam!
As a referee it's very hard to sell a decision in injury time with the score so close especially in a cup game. What you must not do is listen to the linesman who's doing what the AWAY manager tells him to, especially when it's taken him half a minute to make the decision. You should not wait for 30 seconds to give a penalty kick, you give it straight away or not at all. AWFUL!

Really feels like a loss. This will take some drowning.

Positives... Sean 'The Primark Kid' McConville played very well in his natural position of right wing, Dean Winnard was great again, and the new 'keeper looks very promising.

Unlucky Reds.

Is it only me thinking the new keeper seems rooted to his line and extremely reluctant to use his height to claim the high balls. Oh yes - he can't kick either!

Sam F - absolutely agree! We certainly get some bad officials but today was the worst of all - not a red card, not a penalty and they were fouling all afternoon!

Re: FAC vs Barnet

well just got back and absolutely gutted :(

Agreed was never a penalty but they should have had 1 earlier for the Proctor foul.

Miles shouldent even be on the pitch anyway, hes an absolute waste of space at the moment, but fingers crossed we can do them in the replay.

Symes and Grant just look superb up front.

More positives, I thought Mcconville had his 1st decent game of the season and he whipped some great crosses in.

As for the keeper, yeh he looked shaky at the start but who wouldent be, only 19 and your 1st proper game???? Thought he improved massivley towards the end of the game, and he made a great save.

Least we are in the hat!

I think we can beat this lot in Barnet, we battled well and I thought we were unfortunate not to win even with 10 men.
Grant and Symes are playing well, the new goalie seems adequate and made a good save late on. Dissapointing attendance on a cold afternoon, the pitch seemed fine, and the groundsman deserves praise. Did anyone hear the winning draw ticket?

this is a great result for barnet! their away record is shocking lost 5-1 away to cheltenham during the week, but their home form is great unbeaten this season and not budging. In my opinion barnet thoroughly deserved the replay and that was definately a penalty. I may look at it differently from seeing the highlights tonight but from my view was penalty, great result.

Difficult to judge from where I was sat in the Main stand whether Miles' dismissal was justified....It looked late and careless, but probably warranted no more than a Yellow...

That said, it's difficult to swallow yet another rank amateur performance by todays match officials. IF we get turned over in the replay, then their inept decisions today will have cost Stanley potentially a small fortune....Just where do the F.A. dig up these clowns from ???

One instance typified this when the Ref and the Linesman in front of the Whinney Hill side failed to give a corner to Stanley....despite the whole of the ball being clearly over the line....right in front of the Linesman, the referee having a good view too !!! I was sat seventy yards away in the main stand and you could see from there that the ball was well and truly out.

And like has been said earlier on the thread, the ref then gives a penalty for a shirt tug on the strength of what the linesman has seen. You could tell just how mad the lads were about the decision by the way they protested....and all this after the ref had ignored all the pulls, pushes and prods that Symes had to endure all afternoon.

All not lost however, as I didn't think much of Barnet today and with 11 v 11 down there and the same attitude shown from the lads today, then we could certainly get the right result.

The FA normally appoints Level 3/4 referees (ones who normally do semi-pro football where theres not as much at stake) to the games to get experience. However that may just be round 1 and don't take my word for granted.

Don't you think thats just a little to harsh, i havent seen bavs play since this season, so i suppose my point isnt really vailld but from some of the things from here he has been playing good this season and made some great saves, he made it into league 2 keeper of the week last week, i think its good to have compertition in the nets, gutted for bavs but this now give the new keeper a chance to get a few league games under his belt and his name on the first team sheet every week. More serious than the mockery of the penalty, is that Miles gets a 3 game ban, whilst Grant and Kempson will miss 1 game for picking up 5 yellow cards. With a small squad, that's seriously crippling.

Really bad news with regards Grant & Kempson, hopefully Flynn can come straight into the back line and do a job. With Grant being out I hope Gary King gets another chance to impress.

Your not wrong there Cashman but there was a few players yesterday who were amazing. Jimmy was simply brilliant in midfield and Winnard had yet again another cracking game.

Having watched the replay on ITV (only chance as I was working yesterday) I have to say, I hope Stanley do appeal against the sending off because it looked nowhere near deliberate. As for the penalty, that was the softest decision I have seen in years. They were complaining about the appeals at Pompey v Man Utd but that one at the Crown looked nothing like a penalty, cheat fell over looking for something and the assistant duly obliged. Worst decision making I have seen ever and I wasn't there. No wonder JC was apoplectic in the post match interview with BBC Radio Lancs

Myles actually pulled out of the 50 - 50 tackle as usually does and jumped up to try to avoid contact but tne Barnet lad was coming through two footed. The only contact that Myles made was on the shin pads of ther lad. He did not appear to me to make any other contact. Their players did not seem to appeal for anything. The Ref simply got it wrong.:eek::eek: Barnet first goal.. yes Symes was weaK at the post but their No 20 was fouling our new keeper in the centre of goal,, it should have been disallowed. Definately not a Pen .. Winnard had a super game.
V annoyed ,, Officials !!!!

Having had the chance of seeing the "key" incidents on the gogglebox...no way was Miles deserving to be sent off,a yellow would have been more than enough..... and I struggled to even see where the foul was in the penalty incident.

If you're going to give penalties for those decisions then we'd be looking at at least half a dozen penalties a game !!!!

No wonder our esteemed leader has the record he has with match officials....Absolutely pathetic decisions. I played under better officials in the Blackburn Combination !!! :enough:

Whatever standard that bloke was supposed to be, I'd hope that he watched the replays of the said decisions and felt sick with embarassment.

He got two major decisions totally wrong and the two clowns who assisted him were no better...Oh for justice....and decent officials in the replay.

I am making the trip up to Barnet next Tuesday, I take it that it's pay on the gate for away fans?

I'm not too enthusiastic about resurrecting disagreements, but I've just noticed this post and I don't really understand what your point is, cashman.

However, I'll point out that my money is at least as 'good' as yours is.
Also (not that it's any of your or anyone else's business) I have not attended any football match in the last four years in which Accrington Stanley were not playing.

Does that deal with your snide inquiry or do you have a further agenda?

Dear cashman,

I take it that that is your way of avoiding an uncomfortable question.

Well, during more than half a century of watching football I've encountered many instances of spectators criticizing their own team after a bad defeat, I've seen players who were already in tears being booed off the field, I've heard countless calls for X,Y or Z to be sacked.

But I have to admit that until now I've never heard or read a 'supporter' expressing his satisfaction that one of his own team's players has been injured.

That's what my comments have been about, and despite your pathetic efforts to sidetrack the issue, that's what it's still about.

Your apology (not to me but to Ian Dunbavin) will allow this correspondence to come to a close.

Yours sincerely,

A sad git - but one who understands the difference between right and wrong.

i understand exactly what yer comments were about Henry, it was a tongue in cheek comment, my sense of humour, the fact that you cannot grasp it, makes no differance at all to me, so as fer an apology, "Kiss My Ass"
