John Paul Kissock

Just seen in a Scottish paper that he's become available again after being released early by Hamilton (apparently didn't like their long ball game), do people on here think we should go back in for him in Jan???

Re: John Paul Kissock

Where would he fit into the team? We have already got some very good midfielders Joyce, Turner, Miles, Ryan, Procter, plus McConville, King, Kee, Grant, Mullin and he would be another one on the bench, or if he plays then somebody else warms the bench.
We cannot start to get into this trap of too many players, as this was our downfall 2/3 years ago. :)

Mr Matthew 05-12-2009 07:28

Re: John Paul Kissock

But what if he's a better player than those afore mentioned midfielders, you can't have that attitude or you'd never improve things. If a better player get him in and get rid of another. If just as good as what we've got, leave him alone:)

Re: John Paul Kissock

All our midfielders are on contracts till end of season, so until somebody comes in with an offer, we have what we have. We are limited to 20 players, so we have what we have. J.P.K. Was a breath of fresh air and yes I would love to have him in before 2/3 others, but we are stuck with what we got, injuries and all. :) :)

Not if we sell or loan them... I'd happily see the back of McConville and Miles for Kissock.

Great talent
with Ryan, Miles and Kissock we would have a very inventive midfield.

now a taxi driver and playing for formby

waste of talent

on better money as a taxi driver than he could earn at Stanley (so the rumour has it)

Liverpool Echo - Sport - Other Football News - Formby FC sign ex-Everton star John Paul Kissock

Agreed what a waste, i doubt playin in north west counties and drivin a taxi can earn more than a pro footballer, but he probably would get in our side now anyway.

I really liked the lad and thought he would make more of an impact with Stanley than he did. He undoubtedly has/had talent (possibly more than his team mates at the time could handle) but, even though he fulfils the employee requirement of being a Scouser, I have my doubts that Stanley's greatest need right now is for an even smaller, midfield general.

Re: John Paul Kissock

i agree. But maybe one eye on the transfer window and possibly losing Ryan or Putterill to a big bid? In that scenario Kissock has the potential to directly replace.

I think an experienced Striker or even defender must come before another midfielder

Re: John Paul Kissock

I didnt rate him last time and again we have more midfielders than we need. A six foot 4 strikers what we need, a strong front man.

Why all this talk about Kissock? There will be a player for sale shortly who fulfils the 'employment requirement of being a scouser',to quote exile on Spencer St. Please apply to a Mr. Ferguson of Manchester

The player you're thinking of, is no good for us. We need players who love to play football, not greedy baskets.

Redash !..I was thinking very much the same as you tonight, and the thoughts which was uppermost in my mind revolved around a comparison with 'the greedy basket' and our late striker Paul Mullin !.
The conclusion was an easy one to make and it concerned the word 'genuine' !...
How many times has that word been applied to the talents, attitudes and behaviour of the one who is held in such high esteem by his peers and thousands of those who have a love of our game ??...
As for the other one whose behaviour does little more than drag his Club, his Manager, and his Fans (30 of whom are demonstrating outside his house as I write!) through the mud
in a frantic search for more and more money !. Any one can see that he is in no way 'genuine'..
I am also of the opinion that he allowed this despicable attitude to overflow into his perfomance for the England team against Montenegro. thus placing in some jeopardy their success in the European Internationals !..
So....apart from his 'Scouse' credentials......No Chance !!!
