Shows how closely the Notts fans were watching; was atcually Jimmy that was involved in this "minor incident". Coley was nowhere near the happenings!!:)

wouldn't concern me, came to the conclusion in mid 60s after a trip to forest, that nottingham fans are on the whole whinging ******* who will find any excuse not to admit they were beaten by a better team, no wonder "Robin Hood" got the hump wi the sheriff.

You only need to remember the antics of Barnet,(last season) Ballmouth and Daggers this season, to remember that for once it was us that managed to see out the match to win... And as many have said, they just do not like it up em!!!

Well done to everybody concerned in bringing back the points yesterday, players, fans, management, Etc. :) :)

Couldn't make it yesterday, but I think all the whinging from Notts Co fans takes on a slightly different hue, when you read Phil Whalley's comments about their team's gamesmanship.

http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/f...tml#post769538

As for Coley and Jimmy, they're mouthy gits...always have been, always will be. They also happen to be the most successful management team in English football, if you look at their achievements compared to the budget they have at their disposal. Perhaps the County fans ought to be getting a little more worked up about why their highly paid stars can't beat a bunch of players on the lowest wages in the league?

That's the point, though. Most of their fans accept we were the better team but take exception to the conduct of our management team and our behaviour on the pitch in the last half hour. Having read Phil Whalley's more balanced account, however, none of that concerns me now.:)

Having now read all articles, including the piece by Phil Whalley, all I can say is they can sing when they are winning but not when they are whinging coz they lost to the better team (as accepted by most posters). And quite how a club can not wish all the best to another team because of a bit of banter, then they don't deserve to be where they are. Having looked at the BBC forums, County fans were so cock sure of a 4 or 5 goal win for their team, I just wonder if their own team thought the same and came completely unstuck. Just wish I could have been there now.

coley with a big scab on his nose?

Re: Coley still making friends?

All their comments are a bit sad really...why can't they face up to the fact that despite all their money and big names, they were beaten by a better side. As Coley said in the L.E.T. "if it was all about money you'd have the two chairmen in the boardroom throwing cheques at each other" !!

These lads have the heart and drive to make this a real season to remember. If we can keep hold of Bobby, Symes and all and maybe add 1 or 2 in Jan, maybe the play-offs can become a realistic target.Who knows it could even get better than that!!! One thing for sure, We need more through the turnstiles on a regular basis. Maybe another potentially successful season may persuade a few of those who came in the Conference winning season to return????

Stanley apart,:o I've not seen one team at the Crown this season who've made me think that you could call them a real quality side. The nearest I've seen would be Bury in the J.P.T. game where we were looking lost for long periods in that game and at times chasing shadows. That said, they're hardly ripping up trees, are more or less resigned to losing one of their better players sometime soon ( Steven Dawson) and we've already done them twice this season. A hat-trick on the 28th would cap it all!!

If we can pull off a Major result (i.e. beat Leeds and maybe get to Wembley, or beat the Gills on the 2nd of Jan THEN draw a big fish in the F.A. Cup) then maybe, just maybe we could keep hold of our gems.

As for Notts County, it'll be interesting to see where they end up now all the previous regime's money has gone !!! I doubt that the Trembling guy has a real packet to continue to push them forward, I can't see Sven throwing a whole load of Krone ( or whatever the Swede's currency is now) and it may just be that all the big name and big money signings (Schmeichel and Hughes) may just become a rather large loadstone around their necks.

Those two must be on silly money by comparible League Two standards and you only have to look as far as tonight's opponents to see where paying top dollar and the financial supply suddenly stopping gets you. (after all Premier League / Champions League to League One in a couple of seasons)

Trembling was put in there by the Munto finance, all seems like a big scam when you read into it

quote in LET saying transfer embargo may stay so stuck with maximum of 20 players
Accrington Stanley may leave embargo in place (From Lancashire Telegraph)

VALAIRIAN 16-12-2009 17:30

Re: Coley still making friends?

No bad thing that to be honest, if we did not have the embargo, we would have signed players such as Lindfield, Lloyd Etc. Not saying they are no good but, we do not need too many players, as this has cost us in the past! Plus now we are only competing on 2 fronts, our squad is ample. :)

shakermaker 16-12-2009 18:15

Re: Coley still making friends?

I presume either Gary King or Billy Kee (or both) will be off in January, this will create room for Lindfield to join. Tom Lees may be recalled, allowing the signing of Ross Lloyd. I don't think either Bobby Grant or Michael Symes will be sold in January. Doesn't McConville's contract run out in January?

Mr T 16-12-2009 20:34

Re: Coley still making friends?

McConville is signed until July 2010.

Only Peter Murphy and Gary King's contracts expire this year.

Billy Kee and Tom Lees loans also expire in December

Personally think debt should be payed off if at all possible, whilst team are playing well no question, injuries, suspensions, etc, loanees going back, any could come into play, think coley deserves the option "If Needed" to sign a couple, this team is good enough to reach play offs I.M.H.O.

Cashy, I think you have hit the nail right on the head with this statement. :D

Personally speaking, I would not like to see Gary King leave, my opinion alone, but Billy Kee hasn't done anything probably due to the fact he really has not had much of a chance the way that Symes and Grant are playing up front. The only option for me would be to let Kee go back to Leicester and bring in Lindfield to play 4-3-3 at home and 4-5-2 away with the option to switch either formation dependent on how the team are playing.

If Craig Lindfield or Ross Lloyd were any good surely they wouldn't have been out of work for the last six months and would be playing for somebody now instead of messing about at Stanley

Lindfield was on trial at Macclesfield last week. I think he's been at a good number of clubs over the last few months (Morecambe, Carlisle, etc), but nobody has snapped him up.
As Jeff says, surely somebody would have seen something in him, and taken a chance?
