There's been enough warning so I guess they will have. Main problem will be how cold it is on Saturday if the covers can come off.

Covers are on; thanks to Mick + Buzzer

No frost in ground at 6pm tonight. in fact pitch was very firm.

The forecast I've seen looks fine; but what do I know?? I thought Salisbury and Dagenenham would be off and it was playable v Macc!! Guess I'd better stick to the day job:)

Mick S wishes to point out that Dale and Russ were also a massive help in the covers going on.:)

Please keep an eye on here, we may need all hands on deck to get them off Saturday AM

Accrington Stanley v Barnet

Accrington Stanley entertain Barnet at the Crown Ground on Saturday afternoon, kick off 3pm.

We will keep all supporters updated with regards to the pitch over the next 24 hours, as of the early hours of Friday morning we have had a covering of snow, and although this is not necesarily as bad thing as in conjunction with the frost covers that were put on yesterday it will help to protect the surface from the freezing temperatures, it may well be that the club will need to call on willing volunteers on Saturday morning to help clear the pitch.

:)

Re: What chance

As long no serious freeze over night think it will be fine, a bit of rain would get rid of the snow but if not then helpers will be needed in morning prob..

Re: What chance

Just come home from ground all the terrace areas are now clear of snow but will need gritting in the morning, the pitch itself is covered all down the main stand side and 2/3s of the way up the middle which will all need pulling off in the morning, the rest is covered in snow which will hopefully stop any frost getting through having said that there is a considerable amount of snow to remove to get the match on,I believe there is an inspection at 10 in the morning.
