Just wondering if anyone knows? Theres little or no more snow forcast and theres a thaw expected on Friday/saturday so have Accy got plans to take the snow off the covers so the pitch isnt waterlogged for Mondays game?

Cheers matey. I never look on there just on the board. Good to hear theres a good chnace of it being on. we look like being snowed off again Boxing day.

Having no games for 2 weeks should help the number of Bury expected though. Alot I know are missing the footy big time. I was a bit surprised its not a ticket game because I can see a really good following coming.

What does your away end hold?

Pitch update
Wednesday 23rd Dec 2009

Volunteers required on Sunday

The playing surface at the Crown Ground is currently still covered with snow which although adding to the festive mood here at Accrington Stanley and also protecting the pitch from the frost, will need to be removed ahead of our Christmas derby game against Bury on Monday 28th December.

With this in mind the club are appealing again for volunteers to come down to the Crown Ground from 9am on Sunday morning to assist us with the removal of snow from the pitch. Helpers are advised to wear warm clothing and if possible to bring along any snow clearing equipment they may have with them.

Not too sure how many are held in the away end, but I am sure that there will be enough room as we had 3000 on last season against Bradford, so I guess we will be OK with the Shakers coming to town :) :) Just a pity that I will not be able to make it, as Monday is a Bank Holiday and as I do not work in a bank, I will have to go to work!! Really hope that it is a great game for those that are lucky enough to get to the game!! :)

I understand Bradford are "Massive" :) but I would have thought there would be more than 3000 for Mondays game. Ill go with 3200.

Pitch is one thing, then there's the away terrace, car parks roads and side streets around the ground

Wigan proved that one the other day

Temperatures of upto 8 degrees and light rain is predicted for saturday/sunday. If it does get to 8 degrees then the snow will soon dissapear.

Problem is will your pitch then be waterlogged. I know youve suffered from that in the past so it would have been better to get the snow off Saturday.
