Billy Kee

Hi all, Leicester fan here, with Billy's loan spell due to expire in a week or so I thought I'd come on and get a general reaction to his time with you, your opinions on him and whether you'd like to see him stay on loan a while longer.

He's well thought of up here but we haven't really heard all that much about his progress with you so far, anyways your thoughts would be appreciated

Re: Billy Kee

Unlucky, but mostly unfit. Was in the team at start of season and hat trick in first game in pre season there was high hopes. But when he played he looked unfit to be honest and theres 2 strikers now banging the goals in so not much playing chance.

He looks fitter now a days but again its hard getting in team and also trying to make an impact in the last 10-15 minutes. I hope we can extend his loan for rest of season for back up or in case one of in form forwards leave, so we can see billy when hes fit and getting more of a chance...

Hasn't Grant collected 5 yellow cards now? That'll give Billy Kee a starting chance and the opportunity to show us what he's got.

Grant has 6, he was suspended for 5 a few weeks ago. Symes is on 4.

I think Billy will be a good player, as others have said, he has not had a decent run in the Team, but when he is on the pitch he looks good! He had a great match against Torquay the other week and I, along with many others, will never forget that headed winner against Darlo  :D :D

Accrington Stanley v Gilingham

..........................Chris Turner is now available for selection following his recovery from injury however Billy Kee's loan period has expired and midfielder Luke Joyce will miss the tie after picking up a fifth yellow card for the season on Monday against Bury.......................

Pity that Billy has gone back, must be one of our most under used loans.. Do not think we saw the best of him either :( :) :)

Re: Billy Kee

From the Telegraph

Kee, however, returned to Leicester at the end of his six-month loan on Monday and the Championship club are yet to decide whether he can return for the rest of the season.
Both Stanley and the player want to extend the loan deal but it is unlikely anything will be agreed in time for him to face Gillingham.

With the Syms and Grant partnership likely to continue, Billy Kee is a high quality option to have on the bench/cover.
It would be great if he stayed on but Leicester may have other ideas. I wonder if they are hammering Swansea on Saturday, he might get a run out?

Hopefully the Leicester management know the FA Cup rules; he's already started for us at Barnet (replay), therefore he's cuptied for Leicester!!:)

Eh? Proctor, Joyce, Miles, Ryan, Turner and Mullin gives us more cover than we have up front, esp. if Kee doesn't come back.

I see he scored the winner Saturday, is he getting more football now?

Redraine 15-03-2010 15:46

Re: Billy Kee

Billy has started the last two games due to injury to Bobby Grant and has scored in both games. He is a very aggressive, direct player and is an ideal partner for Michael Symes. I really hope he gets an extended run in the side as I think he will come good with plenty of goals, and he seems to me to be our best natural finisher, even though he should have had a hat trick on Saturday. He seems to be a great lad and is a star in the making.

Hope he stays forever!

Re: Billy Kee

Billy will get better as he 'gets his eye in'. It must be hard work for a striker to remain match sharp when they aren't palying regularly, but his 2 in 2 is an indication of what he can (and will) do. Bobby getting an enforced break is good for all concerned and we should be ominous when he comes wanting his place back.

Re: Billy Kee

Billy is a cracking player & he has a bright future in the game

His main attributes is he is tenacious, he goes looking for the ball, a decent finisher and most importantly for Stanley he offers something completely different to the other strikers at the Club.

AccyAggro 15-03-2010 21:07

Re: Billy Kee

Billys a handful, works harder pressin defenders than symes and grant,

must stay in team at minute even if bobby was fit in my opinion as he could go left wing anyway :)

No arguement from me on last 2 posts, fer my money Billy Kee is a must, if stanley are serious about the play-offs. can only increase our chances IMHO.

there was a report in one of the locals last week that Tranmere, Notts County and another I can't remember (maybe Chesterfield) were all monitoring his situation at Leicester before deciding whether to bid for him. If he were our player then I could see him getting more play time than he does - but we couldn't compete with the wages that any of those three will be able to offer

We can definitely compete with Notts County on wages. The only benefit of going to Chesterfield is that he would be at a new team? He may as well stay at Accy, will someone just tell him that's what he's decided please

I would think that if either of Symes or Grant decide to move on in Billy we have a more than able replacement, he knows the set-up perhaps the guarantee of more first team starts may help make it tip more in the Stanley's favour?

Are you mad? They are paying a £200k bonus to Schmeichel & they are now a League higher....

We can compete with Tranmere maybe, at a push... But I bet there are higher wages in the Conference North than Accy

shakermaker 24-04-2010 08:15

Re: Billy Kee

Maybe we can compete with Notts' current 54.9% (of turnover) wage bill relative to our own, but we don't have the directors to sponsor the remaining 240% that the League won't say anything about. Cheating scum, I'll be glad to see the back of 'em.

Pendle Red 24-04-2010 18:27

Re: Billy Kee

Once again in the second half when he came on as a sub it showed Billy for everything that is good about him, got in the opposition's faces creating chances, scoring and linking up play really well

Even when he was injured and limping he soldiered on and still gave 100%:)

How about Tuesday night giving Symes a rest and linking Billy up with Bobby what have we got to lose?

Re: Billy Kee

Player News.

Thursday 6th May 2010.

Kee keen to start.

Billy Kee has admitted that he's desperate to sign off his time at the Crown Ground with another goal – and a full 90 minutes.

The striker is in red hot form ahead of Saturday's trip to Cheltenham after netting three times in his last two substitute appearances.

“It’d be nice to get one at Cheltenham to make it ten goals for the season,” conceded the on-loan youngster. “Hopefully I’ll get a start. I really want to start a game again and want to be playing full matches. Coming off the bench is hard sometimes but in the two games last week it was really nice to come on the pitch.”

The game at Whaddon Road will signal the end of the 19-year-old's tenure in East Lancashire, but he's unsure what the future holds.

“I haven’t got a clue yet. I haven’t spoken to this club and I haven’t spoken to anyone else yet. I’m just going to go with the flow. I think Leicester want to offer me something. They’re my main club and my main priority at the moment so we’ll just see what happens.

“I wouldn’t say no to coming back because I’ve enjoyed this season but I’ll just have to see what happens and what goes on in the future.”

Kee has received international recognition for Northern Ireland at under 21 level in his time as a Red and was even called into the senior squad. He feels that whatever happens in the future, he's learnt a lot from his loan spell.

“I’m a different person to the one I was when I arrived. I’ve come on a lot, I’m more experienced and I feel like a different player really.”

Nevermind him staring against Cheltenham, I'd like to see him starting against the likes of Shrewsbury, Bradford, Torquay and Hereford, for us next season!!!!

Best of luck Billy, wherever you are next season!

What worries me is the season finishes on Saturday, there dosn't seem to be much eminating from the Club with regard deals being signed as yet by the Managerial Duo, lots of talk but are they actually signed?

Also I would presume that players will start to disperse on their holidays shortly as well will they be signed up or offered contracts before they do and then we can start to shape for next season or do we run the risk of losing them by perhaps being slow out of the blocks if other clubs come calling?

I suppose the key may actually be when their contracts expire
