This saturday - on or off?
Do you guys reckon it will be on or off?
The BBC says it will be minus 5 on Friday night and a maximum of -1 on Saturday during the day. Thanks. |
Re: This saturday - on or off?
Shouldn't be a problem - that's quite mild for up 'ere :), seriously though was probably similar temperatures on Sunday/Monday and we played the Bury game with no problem then so fingers crossed game will be on.

Re: This saturday - on or off?
I was on the ground the day before the Bury game and I did not think it would be on, but the cold weather, plus the recent drainage work did the trick! :)
As Accymad has said, same sort of temp, is due and it has been very mild, without any snow, so I would think it would be on, but keep your eye on this messageboard, as I am sure that 1 or 2 of the regular helpers will keep us up to date. :) :) :) |

Stanley v Gillingham - FA Cup Third Round
Wednesday 30th Dec 2009 Volunteers required for Thursday morning. Accrington Stanley are appealing for volunteers to assist with placing frost covers on the pitch on New Year's Eve from 9.00am. All are welcome to come along as we look to protect the playing surface ahead of our FA Cup Third Round tie against Gillingham on Saturday. No specific equipment is required although supporters are advised to wear gloves and warm clothing. :) |

Accrington Stanley v Gillingham
Friday 1st Jan 2010 Pitch inspection at 10.00am The match referee will be on site to assess the condition of the pitch at the Crown Ground tomorrow morning from 10.00am, ahead of our FA Cup third round tie against Gillingham in the afternoon. Bearing in mind the distance between the two clubs Accrington Stanley took the precaution of calling in a local Football League referee this afternoon to assess the playing surface, which having been protected by our frost covers and thawed to some extent by the sunshine, would be fit to play on had the game been today. An overnight frost is expected and the situation will be reassessed in the morning. Further updates will be posted here on the official Accrington Stanley website as and when they are available. :) |
Re: This saturday - on or off?
Just had a brief heavy snow shower in town but it is easing now. I don't think the freeze was too bad last night and the grass outside our house is not rock hard and thats without me putting the covers on :D
Reckon there must be a good chance :) |
