Coleman to Burnley?
Quick thought...
Looks like Burnley will be after a new manager come tomorrow tea-time, do you reckon Coley will be linked considering his ability to work on a shoe-string? I think it would be nice for him to be linked however I couldn't see it happening as Burnley would want someone proven at a higher level (I presume). |

How do I answer this without upsetting all my Stanley friends on here.:D |
Re: Coleman to Burnley?
So you think you have friends on here!!!
Coley is due to sign a contract extension here at the Crown!! Also he's no experience at fighting relegation battles, so I'm not sure his CV will do BFC. Dave Basset is available I hear!!! |

As a part-time Rover I saddens me to say that I don't think they'll be involved in one, Coyle (if he leaves) will leave a team that is resillient and can cope with changes for a while and there home form (mainly due to the fans) should just about keep them up regardless of who is in charge. And unless you've just started supporting Stanley more often than not (I presume, being a young un) Coleman has been involved in relegation battles. |

more often than not? in 11 years at Stanley he has successfully fought 3 relegation battles (in League 2), successfully fought 3 promotion battles (Unibond 1st, Unibond Prem and the Conference) had four years of top ten and this year is on the cusp of the play-offs with games in hand that could put us 5th. prior to that he finished 3rd and then 2nd with Ashton United prior to that he was probably one of the greatest strikers in English non-league history - and without looking up the stats players like that tend to be at the right end of the league. retraction due methinks |
Re: Coleman to Burnley?

Re: Coleman to Burnley?
I dont believe hell be approached at all, no one even in league 1 has ever looked at coley for replacement, never mind premier league. Afterall, remember what a great job paul ince did just up the road after the same jump in leagues

I understand what you are saying, but please never ever use the Ince word again alongside Coley.................I mean its an insult of the highest order to our Manager!! :D:):D |

However in my defence in recent times Coleman has had relegation battles I wrongly presumed that he had been in them before. I'm glad you like your new title Mr T :p |

Personal Choice - Curbishley or Coppell Definate No-No's Cotterill or Reid. In fact if they got Cotterill back I would buy a season ticket at Rovers  |

Re: Coleman to Burnley?
if Burnley appoint Alan Curbishley then they will go down. They will want a 'name' to keep the 10 players out of contract in the summer at the club and to try and attract a few more in.
Anyway, lets keep the football genius that is John Coleman our secret. I have a horrible feeling if we beat Gillingham and give Fulham a good game in the 4th round, our managers name may attract interest from other chairmen, especially Tranmere Rovers. |

A young, talented squad is being moulded here and I can see serious success coming our way in the next couple of years. It's scary but it's becoming a very real prospect that we'll be moving up the leagues sooner rather than later. The management team will be doing so with a team that is completely theirs. Most clubs above us need serious weeding out before going anywhere. |

I think Coleman has a point why not have a 2 week slot at the end of the season so re-arranged league games will be put there to stop fans travelling the length of the country twice in one night e.g. Barnet Cup replay. |
