Coley and Phil Edwards shortlisted
http://www.accringtonstanley.co.uk/g...gue%20logo.gifThe on the pitch achievements of Accrington Stanley in December have further been recognised with John Coleman and Phil Edwards listed in the shortlists for the Coca-Cola Manager and Player of the Month awards respectively.

John Coleman is named along with Keith Hill from Rochdale, Sammy McIlroy from Morecambe and Aldershot's Kevin Dillon. Stanley defender Phil Edwards is listed with Notts County striker Lee Hughes, Morecambe forward Phil Jevons and defender Craig Dawson from Aldershot.

Accrington Stanley won 5 out of 7 matches in December, including an FA Cup second round replay at Barnet that saw us through to the third round for only the second time in our recent history, and one of the defeats was at Leeds United in the area semi-final of the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, the furthest that we have ever progressed in the competiton.

May not win either, but along with the award for Symes, it is great to be in and around it!!! :) :) :) Good times for Stanley! :)

Personally i think they deserve to win Decembers, given all the november crap,n what they achieved.:) also the leeds match, simon grayson said the best team lost. fantastic achievement IMHO.

Would love Phil to win this award, it's about time he got some recognition. Not sure about Coley (not cos he doesn't deserve it, just that the manager of the months award can be a jinx and we don't want that)

You can usually work out the Manager Of the Month, it's normally awarded on points gained during the month.

:) Second month in arow our coleys been in the running for manager of the month,and if he keeps getting the mentions then intrest will come from bigger clubs for his services IMHO:eek:.And with Phill been mentioned as well as player of the month ,Also he will attract intrest for his services as well:(But both deserve recognition for the hard work they have put in! With all that has gone on at our club to which it must have been difficult to consentrate on the football side of things:)

Which would you rather have progression, good football & success that will bring suitors or scrapping for our lives in a relegation dogfight constantly looking where our next three points are coming from to keep ahead of our rivals and going back to playing hoofball:eek:

Hope they've got the bit about Phil moving as wrong, after all according to that article Craig Dawson plays for Aldershot but he is a Rochdale player so maybe not the most reliable of sources (fingers crossed).

Phil came third, some bloke - defender - from Rochdale, came first! Not too fussed, it is nice for the lads to be mentioned, but do not want to lose anybody - selfish, I know, but!! :)

Should of come first, Just hope we keep hold of him and all the players in january, Coleman is right if he was abit taller he wouldnt be playing for stanley and he hardly ever gets links to other clubs, he is our best player at the club IMHO

Maybe this spell of bad weather is a distraction at the moment. I suppose nobody can have a look or a second look while we have no matches to play. It might be that the transfer window is halfway through by the time we play again. Fingers crossed.

It would be good to keep the team together.But I have just a feeling of all the players we could lose, he would be the one we would miss most.

Exactly he does his job quitely, Very very well, and because he works 110% every game and plays very well he goes unoticed, if he was to go or be off for a couple of games we would miss him at the back, we have a good back four just hope it stays that way

If he did not play, then we would miss him! But, we still have other good players at the back, Kempo and Lees to name but 2. I know that Lees is not ours, but we still have him until May! Best back line in years!! :)
