Been quite a bit of drizzle today but nothing heavy. Hopefully it dried out a bit yesterday so today shouldn't have caused too much of a problem. I think it's forecast dry tomorrow

Just spotted this on Fishy site too;

The road to Wembley finally continues on Tuesday evening as League One side Gillingham visit the Crown Ground in the third round of the FA Cup sponosred by E.On. The game has been postponed twice this month with the recent cold spell, however with all the snow now gone and the drains working perfectly then the game should finally go ahead!

vicburdett - dont post this kind of info on the message boards, we need to keep any opponents in the dark

Re: Gills Game?

Just back from the Crown.

Pitch fine, damper than I would have wanted, BUT perfect for our Southern friends!!! ( Their manager's already saying its poor in their pre match build up!!!)

The pitch is so dr because the snow was removed, IF we have left it to melt in situ, in my view in would have been waterlogged for weeks.

The forecast is fine and the ref for tomorrow has been changed; its now Carl Boyeson who played the Daggers game and I know it was very wet that day!!!

From Official site.

FA Cup sponsored by E.On Third Round
Tuesday 19th Jan 2010.

Accrington Stanley's biggest ever game.

Accrington Stanley are now just a few hours away from hosting our FA Cup third round tie against League One side Gillingham.

A combination of prize money for progressing through to the next stage together with a home tie against Fulham on Saturday with television highlights will make this evening's match worth over £100,000 to the winner, making it arguably the biggest ever game in our recent history.

Accrington Stanley is calling on the people of the town to come along and support us as we look to take another step along the road to Wembley, the term glory hunter doesn't exist at the Crown Ground, all are welcome as we look for a great atmosphere and a healthy crowd to get behind John Coleman and the team to cheer us on to a place in the last 32.

Admission is pay at the turnstiles for all areas of the ground, with adult prices £15 for seating and £13 on the terrace, concessions £10 and £8 and under 16's and students £6 and £5. Please note we reserve the right to ask for proof of age or educational status. Supporters are advised to arrive at the stadium in good time.

Just a quick point... I was at the Rovers v Fulham game on Sunday and it looked like there fans had even filled a taxi. For a Premier League club to have an away following simliar to the size of ours at local games is pretty shocking. However more may come up on Saturday IF we get through.
