All paid up

Re: All paid up
Once again the Telegraph are short of news.
A techincality!! Shame they can't write big headlines about all that's good about OUR FANtastic team and club. The reason our Chairman wasn't available for comment, is that he's abroad on business, hardly a crime?? |
Re: All paid up
Chris Flanagan is a tool.............
Never mentions Accy's support, even though they are ****in ace most games. Is always looking for a ****e headline though like any journo |
Re: All paid up
Just read the article & its not Flanagan.....
He's still a tool :) |
Re: All paid up
its all gettin better and better at our club.... ground development in the summer and more fans here or there and we would be even better :)

I would imagine that there will be a response to the drivel soon!! :) By the way, I think that Mr. Millers description of Chris Flanagan is better aimed at David Watkinson  |
Re: All paid up
An attrocious piece of so called journalisim in my opinion..............Why concentrate on 'Old News'?................Oh I forgot, 'bad news' sells......................:(

Re: All paid up
Guys, dont waste your time complaining about the headlines and content of the LET. My own position with respect to this paper is based on 4 specific examples that I am happy to expand upon. Its clear that there is a deep seated pattern of unfortunate behaviour that comes through, and all we can do is focus on our own performance on and off the pitch. Lets not worry about what someone writes or does not write. the wonder of the world we live in - and the incredible transparency that is available to us all, is that we no longer rely upon such third rate journalism to inform and educate us.
The Dec petition has been well documented. In fact there was a shareholder meeting that was called, and i am on record as having apologised to the fans for the way in whcih the petition got to be gazzetted. Not only was the debt repaid, but as you will see from a separate post i have made today, we (the club) has entered a great new position. As I say, its very sad that the headlines from a paper that is meant to be local, sympathetic and supportive has consistently been either misleading, or frankly badly written. You will recall the blaring headlines from 3 stories in the past months that were either unattributed, or plain wrong. They are entitled to write what they wish. Our job is to ensure that the facts are available to all - and the internet and other papers are only to happy to report on that basis as opposed to starting from a negative standpoint. And anyway - does anyone care ? we care more about morecambe on saturday. We care about getting into an automatic promotion place. we care about our players and the fact we have a united team. we care about Coley and Bell sticking with the game plan. So, as i say, dont waste time on this bulletin board complaining about the newspaper in question. its simply not important, and on this occasion, simply another example of a badly judged, badly written and ill mannered article. Lets hope that they realise their errors and can improve as the season progresses. |

Re: All paid up
Well said Ilyas, let's hope the LET are as quick to print your statement on our financial affairs as they were to print that rubbish last night

Re: All paid up
AccyMad, as it happens, i decided a little while ago to stop talking with the LET. I will always be polite and courteous if they call but I am a firm believer in actions and words matching each other, and I also judge only by someone's actual track record. ON this basis, the story about the kit supplier, followed by the shrieking headlines on Eric Whalley returning to the club and then the story about the last petition (I should say two stories) were enough to convince me that I had better things to do with my time. They are very quick to defend or explain their actions, and are wonderful dis-assemblers (imagine in your mind's eye the picture of a dewy eyed goon, pointing both ways at once with crossed arms saying " not me guvm blame him !").
The journalist who allegedly wrote the words that appeared last night did call me, but I politely explained that i was going through security to board my flight - which was true. Had I been free I would not have entertained a conversation. This is not a personal issue, since I assume they are all very nice people. As I said, I really dont think it matters any more, and worrying about LET is a very very distant issue. By the way, on a different point, are you planning to go along on Saturday ? |
Re: All paid up
Again, eloquently put Ilyas and yes I shall be there as usual this Saturday (fingers crossed that the weather is kind enough to allow us to play :) )
