Re: Stadium Name

Ground sponsorship is a very useful revenue stream if it is actually actively being seeked. I am surprised that nothing has been done since Fraser Eagle went bust, being perfectly honest I am concerned that the Commercial side hasn't sorted something. There was a six figure some lost from Fraser Eagle and this then started the process of our cashflow problems. We should learn from this and get somebody onboard to sponsor the ground.

Let’s be true to what we have; The Crown Ground or Livingstone Road will do us fine. I’m sure in time some Dank sounding company will come along making us sound like a bad night out; but until then lets be true to ourselves.

On, Stanley On! Play up at the Crown.[/quote
Totally agree Doug (oh 'eck thats nearly as worrying as when I agree with Cashy ).
And to be honest, whatever else it's been called through sponsorship deals, most folk have always referred to it as 'The Crown Ground'.

Oh well! It looks like I'm in a small minority of fans who would wish to have a more evocatively named ground, perhaps with a link to the history of the immediate area. The NORI would be my choice.

However I gain a little bit of comfort from Oscar Wilde: "To disagree with three quarters of the British public is one of the first requisites of sanity."

Keep it as The Crown. Time to make some history rather than live in it.

Aint certain, but is the "Crown" boozer not older than the NORI anyway?:)

they only got NORI because some pillock spelt it wrong on a brick and it should have been the IRON brick works so why not all it the NWORC football ground in keeping with its neighbour the NORI brick works LOL

I can see the logic behind NORI - our brickmaking industry. Think a bit more along this theme....REDAC. i.e. Red Accrington (brick). Made in Huncoat. It will tell everybody that t'Stanley are 'The Reds'.

Re: Stadium Name

Why stop at NORI? Let's fit it all in there... 'The NORI-Hayley Cropper-Mystic Meg-Jon Anderson-Bumble Lloyd-Diana Vickers-Pals Ground'?

Or not.

Completely agree with both Doug and SamF.
