Wel.... Get ready for this Accy Web...

I have just seen a fight break out on the pitch between 5 stewards and Jimmy Bell!!!
Punches where thrown and Jimmy Bell was wrestled and man handled to the ground....
There was then because of this a pitch invasion as the Stanley fans rushed on to the pitch to help Jimmy Bell who in my eyes was being assaulted by Crewe Football Club officals!!

the pre match interview is going to be interesting thats for sure.

well spotted post match!!

After going down to the end of the tunnel it seems 5 stewards have taken a dislike to Jimmy going over to clap the fans. They then jumped on him, threw punches and wrestled him to the ground mid way inside what was the Crewe half.

The fans then ran on to the pitch, not to invade but to give their assistance to Jimmy who was at this point being assaulted.

Jimmy was then not aloud to leave the tunnel for fifteen mins to clap the fans who remained inside the ground chanting his name.

Once Jimmy was aloud to cross the pitch back to the fans they applauded each other and both fans and Jimmy left.

An incident created from nothing and solely to blame are the officials of Crewe Football Club who got a little excited by the power a Hi Vis jacket gives them on a Saturday afternoon!!!

Having been at the match, but missed the excitement of the final four minutes, that scoreline should read ref and liners and crewe alex 5 stanley 1. It may have been a penalty, however, now way was it a red card offence. Donaldson (I think) was going away from goal, will be interesting to see the replay tonight. Yellow would have been sufficient. The ref completely lost the plot. Even at 10, Stanley played some good football, what is apparent though is that we need some big forwards and defence. Just a pity that Proccie and Winnard? managed to present the ball to Crewe players to score. At 2-1 there was only going to be one result and it was nothing like the one we ended up with. We were the better team for the majority of the game, better finishing and t could have gone either way. No doubt the beeb will only show the Crewe stuff and not our own apart from the one goal we did score. Bring on Barnet on Tuesday, someone is definitely in for a hiding.

The Stewards - 3 at first, the 5!! - just wrestled Jimmy to the ground, ignoring all his protests!! After a couple of mins, when we realised that they would not let Jimmy go, 1 or 2 Ladies, went to help Jimmy, followed by a few more fans.

Stewards were a disgrace - some of them, not all - none of us were thrown out, none of us were arrested - even when the proper Police turned up!!

FANS - NOT CRIMINAL!!

"Can't help thinking our stewards caused it though with their heavy-handed treatment of the Accy man."

Agreed! They'll be kicking off with opposing players when they go over to clap their fans next. A total over-reaction by our stewards provoked the whole incident. Should be ashamed of themselves.....

Maybe now a club official has been dealt with by the stweards they will start to realise what the average football fan has to put up with week in week out. I'm suprised the police didn't try and baton Jimmy as well

Coley was correct in taking off Kempo. We were trailing 2-1 at the time and staring down a likely 3-1 scoreline. Replacing a defender rather than an attacking player was 100% correct

Viewing a thread - Accrington on pitch fight

know what happened... Their assistant manager got floored for clapping the Accy fans by our over zealous dicks of stewards.

Jimmy Bell was wrestled to the floor and John Coleman told me he was livid, quite rightly so too.

An assistant manager treated like a pitch invader, got in a head lock and piled on on the ground, f00k me this is seriously embarrassing for us and Coleman wants the CCTV.

Imagine Baker next year (when he's back) with Dario coming over to us away and getting hammered to ground.

Jimmy Bell is a legend to all them Accy fans, no wonder they came on the pitch, our stewards didn't see his Initials JB on his Official team-ware shell-suit either, morons!

As for today's game, we were at sixes & sevens throughout, didn't deserve to win but scoreline flattered Crewe - they were nothing special but unfortunately outplayed us for most of the game/
On to the Jimmy Bell incident - what a disgrace, the stewards responsible ought never to officiate at a game anywhere, ever again. All Jimmy was doing was coming over to clap our fans & found himself being wrestled to the ground, some of our lot have it on camera - should make interesting viewing.

Might I advise anybody with any videos/pics of the incident to let the club see them ASAP? Best thing to do is email Rob Heys or give him a ring. The club need all the evidence they can get on what happened and any footage could make all the difference.
