changes or not

Do we need a change in players i.e. defence or is it a case of loss of confidence by players or could it be were now safe can`t get relegated not bothered just turn out and wait for summer holidays .I think it`s time for a re-think are some of the players good enough to play for us :mad:

No idea really what is wrong, first half there was nothing in it really - other that the strike by Zola! Second was not much better, though we deserved nowt from the game, I thought that Bavs going off, was the reason for the scoreline, we are not that much away from where we where, if there is one thing to point to, it is comittment!
There isn't any fight in the Team any more.

Val you have it pretty much in a nutshell:(

It's a shame because the pitch today was in perfect condition, nice & wide lush plenty of zip to it Crewe played to feet didn't waste much posession with the front two causing panic anytime they went near the our area, there number twenty didn't waste anything that came his way breaking play up and playing near perfect balls everytime he had chance to his front two.

The number of times we had posession and lost it with wanton lazy balls falling short of intended targets, balls that were telegraphed before we even played them was the look of "Boxer out on his feet" almost punch drunk.

Confidence must be really low, we need to somehow break the rut before the end of the season.

The Fans were superb throughout never waining in their support even at five one down, that's what really makes this Club a pleasure to Support and follow while setting them apart from all other fans.

If the Team could take some the same commitment & heart from the Stanley fans we would be going up as Champions:)

Exactly my thoughts, Google Page Ranking. The lads and lasses were superb and really deserved better than that. 5-1 down and still singing? You tell me ANY other set of fans in the country who could match that!

Spot on Google Page Ranking and as to the FANs support, it was very strange, each time we went further behind, we got louder and supported even more! As you say, where else would you get that type of support?

P.S. No20 was M.O.M. By far. Even though he looked like a girl, with all that hair.

Re: changes or not

bad performance even from the captain today. No pride no passion and no belief. Jimmy ran around but simply is not comfortable with the wingers role, I would play him midfield where he is most dangerous , Joyce and Miles very poor and symes didnt look interested and did not chase any balls, granty was better on the wing and tried but defence let us down badly. A little more promising 2nd half good balls in again from turner but again not finished off. let down by Bavs and that changed the game. 10 men and an injured Billy. Game over.

The best bit about this run of form is that we have proved beyond doubt that we have the best support in the League. Solidarity in adversity has never been more apparent than this season.

I love everyone of you who stand proud in the name of ASFC

One point in all of this, we must not lose sight of what the lads - the Team - have gone through this season. When the going was tough, they stuck to their task, now things are better - we are safe, we done not have many bills, the season is almost at an end - the wheels are off. If it were the other way round, then nobody would have thought about it. I know it is a disappointing end to the season, but it is an end to a season, that we may not have had!

As the man says "KEEP THE FAITH" and bring on 2010/2011 :) :)

Re: changes or not

Something has changed dramatically we are a team in free fall devoid of ideas:

I take onboard we are a young team
Not everyone has played full season in the league before
The Crown Ground is not the slickest of football surfaces
We probably move around a lot to train
We probably have performed particulary above expectation earlier on in the Season

But the loss of form puzzles me even if you take all the above into account, you don't become a poor team overnight?

Only the Management and players know why there has been such a dip in form

I'm sure there must be a reason no one else has mentioned it but why not get Kenny back ? Second choice at Rochdale for the later half of this season and with them going up I can't see his chances of first team with them getting any better?

has been mentioned sam, couple of times, rochdales keeper is on loan also from rovers, so that may change things? i agree though n mentioned its worth a cheeky bid on some thread or other.;)

Re: changes or not

Only thing with getting a decent Keeper on loan is you run the risk of them getting recalled at some point.

I would imagine Kenny would be under contract so that would be a no go

I would think there will be some quality number one's out there come the end of the season, who are free agents and unattached. The guarantee and lure of first team football may be enough in itself

The team needs strenthening of that there is no doubt. This of course depends on money. The Directors have a responsiblilty to provide the money, either through their own efforts or pockets. The Commercial Dept should be making sure that all games are sponsored, the weekly draw is canvassing for more members etc. Then it is up to JC to go out and get the best available players while working within the budget set. This yeats squad as not been good enough, proof being the lack of changes in the team even when tiredness as crept in. those who have not been good enough should be shown the door. We must realise that we will never get the crowds in to sustain a Football League Club so it is vital that people stop thinking of cheaper prices simple maths 1200 X £10 = £12000 £10 being an average. £12000 divided by £5 =2400. 2400 every week sorry guys it will never be.

A very good post that opens up a lot of debate realating to Budgets right through the Club

The Biggest of which has to be taking us back a Year "Don't Live Beyond Your Means"

The hardcore will buy the Season Tickets bringing revenue into the Club but only at one point during the Season, it is then down to the Club to get them spending in the Shop and facilities connected to the Club:

Programmes, food, shirts, drinks etc.

The second wave and probably just as important from a revenue stream is the walk on's

If you aimed at a 1000 including away followings into that as say an average of £10 per walk on to take into account the spectrum of ticket prices per game that brings in £10k per game or 230k over the 23 league games, plus any bits they buy while at the ground.

Then there is a you say sponsorship for games, stands, ground, shirts, shorts

While we have small attendances we have growth to aim for that must be the target:)
