Tueday V Barnet
Well, the end of the season is looming and It's squeeky bum time for me and my fellow GTFC fans. :end:
I hope Stanley can put yesterdays result behind them and beat Barnet to give us a chance of staying up. You have a great set of fans there and I hope that your players show what they are capable of and give you a good end to the season with a win. Where would you rather go next season, Cleethorpes for some great fish and chips, or Barnet with ....er...er.. can't think of anything good about that place. Best wishes and hope to play you again next year. :help: |
Re: Tueday V Barnet
Barnet...just another London suburb at the end of the Northern Line.
Cleethorpes...fish 'n' chips in the Seaway, then pints of foaming ale in the legendary Willie's Bar! No contest for me, mate. Good luck and I hope our lads shape up and give you a helping hand on Tuesday. :) |
Re: Tueday V Barnet
That's if we can play this game. Wouldn't suprise me if there was torrential downpour between now and Tuesday's KO!

This thread reminds me of a match in the 80's when I was 4th official at the Turf ( although in those days they were called standby officials :) ) Burnley were playing Hull who had to win by 3 goals to get promoted or sheffield Utd were promoted instead. Probably as many Sheff Utd fans as there were Hull, so police had to create 2 no go areas to seperate 3 sets of fans :D. Was quite strange at the end to see 2 sets of away fans getting to grips with other  |
Re: Tueday V Barnet
update.. I know of a poeples carrier full going, my car + 2 other cars going full of Grimsby fans who'll be coming to cheer on the might Stanley :)

Re: Tueday V Barnet
Luke,
get your mates to ring Lewis Carroll in the ASFC shop and pre-order their tickets. Thanks for your support, hope our players can find some form:) |

Most important game in our history
"That Grimsby team was pound for pound, and class for class, the best football team I have seen in England since the war. In the league they were in they played football nobody else could play. Everything was measured, planned and perfected and you could not wish to see more entertaining football."
Bill Shankly - Grimsby Town manager 1951-1954. Hello to all Accrington Stanley fans. Our future lies in your hands. One of the most important games in our 132 year history is Accrington Stanley v Barnet tomorrow. If Barnet win tomorrow then we are done for. We've had a nightmare of a season and may well get what we have deserved all along but it would be remarkable if we escaped the drop now. You beat The Bees tomorrow night and we do the same on Saturday means it's all down to the final game of the season. I will be there willing your team on as much as if they were my own. Help us out. Up Accy and up the Mariners |
Re: Tueday V Barnet
Really hope we can help you lot out ........... a win would be quite nice for us too, but after the last few weeks I really wouldn't want to call it.
As one Barnet fan has put it, we could be like two tired boxers & circle each other for an hour & a half :) |
Re: Tueday V Barnet
Really hope Stanley can do the business,Got an office full of town fans waiting to kick or kiss me wednesday morning depending on the result:D.
Can't wait to be at the crown ground tomorrow! Saturday's match for town would be a blundell park blockbuster if we win:mosher: |
Re: Tueday V Barnet
good luck Grimbsy! id rather have you in the league than them dirty southerners! :D
