|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
sounds like the cheltenham stewards are on form, they've just chucked out a 15 yr old lad who is there with his mum, for ducking under a railing. Madness!!
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Howdy all
I'm here. A few technological issues! Good start by the hosts and they deserve their lead Dan |

|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
24: GOAL
Grant gets the ball edge of the box, squares to Turner on the left who checks back onto hisw right foot and curls Stanley level 1-1 |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Can confirm that the 15 year old I mentioned earlier has actually been arrested for ducking under a barrier now and is on his way with his mum to chelteham police station. It kangaroo authority gone mad!

36: two half chances for C - both wide. They've got a corner now though
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
well defended and partially away
but back in and behind for another corner |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
delivery evades everyone and goes out for a Stanley throw

Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
40: alsop free header - blocked bavs
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Approaching half time and JC will be pretty happy if they go in level. Only one real Stanley chance and they stuck it away...
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
1 min of added time
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Half time at Whaddon Road - the hosts started brightly and took the lead through Josh Low in the eighth minute, but Stanley responded and Chris Turner levelled things up 16 mins later.
Since then the Reds have had to defend a few corners and Bavs has made one great save but it's level at the interval. Cheltenham 1 Stanley 1 |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Half Time
1-1 |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Who's the standout players so far Mr. Dan?
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Anymore info on the arrested violent thug from stanley? Who let's these people in the away end? Ducking under a barrier! He may as well have shot his gun at Dunbavin as well! SHAME ON YOU!
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Back underway for the second half - no changes

Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Leeds losing :D Charlton up in League One as it stands.

I think this level of policing and stewarding is ridiculous any look at a table of home office records would show we are the joint best fans in the football league regarding behaviour, regarding noise no-one has nothing on us. |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
56@ SUB: Murphy off, Mullin on
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
And on an unrelated subject, I think there may have been some sarcasm in the post about the away end... I am watching football at the same time, but I read it that way!

Grimsby 3-0 down, shame really I prefer them to Barnet. And Leeds are level :(
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Just reached the hour mark - one good chance each so far in the second half
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Quote:
But theres no problem discussing about the stewards behaviours at grounds, which has been appauling to say the least, but also be mindful that the youngsters family & stanley may wish to take further action & we dont want to hinder their progress in doing so :D |

|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
It's impossible to say exactly what's happened Stanleymad, but there are dozens of police in there and a few more Stanley fans have been ejected by the looks of things.
As I say, next to impossible to tell exactly what's going on |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Going from current scores...
If Port Vale come from behind to win and Stanley can get a win at Cheltenham we will finish in the top half. |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Sounds like abit of a sour taste in the mouth after a great season :(
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
76: superb volley from Kee tipped over by GK

...and just realised I'm a bit behind there!
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
As things stand Gillingham are back to join us after their one year holiday...
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Unless Brentford scored, it could send Hartlepool. Grimsby v Burton is ending in an 'ugly' fashion according to the BBC.
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Quite a few games turning ugly according to Sky :(
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Into stoppage time.

1-1 nice solid away point.
Well done boys. |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Finished 1-1!!!
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Thanks for that :D hope all fans return home safely :D
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
At least we didn't lose! No defeats in our last 3 games is a fair way to end the season.
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
That's it then folks... Another season over. The Cheltenham player of the year awards are being presented on the pitch now. Almost all the Stanley fans have gone now. Most departed well before the final whistle.
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Nice run of games to finish of the season, roll on next season. Well done to all at Stanley
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
just been told from someone there that many stanley fans (including themselves) walked out in disgust at heavy handed stewards and police and that they have never seen anything like it in their life!!
Sad way to end a season, never mind what was meant to be a fun last away game with the free coaches put on :( |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
Coley keeps up the improving run aswell! Congrats to everyone at the club!
|
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham

AND RIGHTLY SO TO BE HONEST. Many people will ask why people can't just do as they're told and sit down, shut up - but that's not the Stanley way. Stanley fans (the Ultras and co anyway) go to enjoy themselves and have fun whilst supporting their team in as loud and proud a fashion as possible. When stewarding gets out of hand as it has been known to occasionally you have the chance for either fight or flight. From the sounds of it the lads chose to walk out rather than rise to the baiting of the dayglo morons. Many clubs' fans would just kick the shi t out of em. Well done lads. |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
hear hear Rob
But isn't that a bit too much common sense for you? ;) |
Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
TBH you only have to look at the scenes at the end of the match at the Pirelli, that was totally out of order and not what is needed in football. So Grimsby got relegated, I don't think it will do them any harm and they can regroup and come straight back up if they are good enough. According to the radio (BBC Lancs) the game had an end of season feel to it, although Stanley were on top. Lets get our team regrouped, get the strength up for next season and make them play offs. BTW good luck to Morecambe (eek did I say that)

Re: Match Thread v Cheltenham
just spoke to Squaddie and asked what the trouble was that deserved 'dozens of police officers' you'll wet yourselves laughing but Cheltenham got out a teeny weeny Chelt flag to wave at the Ultras - who promptly got out the big surfer. Cue a tug of war between the stewards and the ultras with the flag as rope!!!! Unfortunatley though an older gentleman was in the middle of this and was hurt by the actions of the stewards. That's when the trouble started.
Apparently Jase (Willie Miller) was arrested during the planned marhc from the pub as well. The fans were told to march on the pavements rather than the road and duly did so. At some point Jase left the pavement and was nicked without any warning or provocation. Grimps was hurt by the stewards as well and spent the game in a wheelchair. Not sure about others but Squaddie assures me that everything that happened was under a zero tolerance approach from stewards and police. Bloody ridiculous and I hope that as many people as witnessed any of this can forward a letter or email to the club for them to hopefully act upon. |
