Oxford Utd have been promoted to the Football League... and we are still here!

History could quite easily have repeated itself were it not for the actions of Ilyas Khan and Peter Marsden down in that London. Now we find ourselves at the end of our most successful season, with every hope of bettering the record in 2010/11.

At long last, next season we will be able to play Oxford United after they won the Conf. Playoffs today! In the various twists of fate that have preceded the last 50ish years, we have never been in the FL at the same time and ironically they were relegated, when we were promoted!!

So along with Stevenage, we will have a few new Teams down at The Crown next season!!

Wouldn't have minded an awayday in York (top notch pubs!), but the superstitious part of me is glad that Oxford have done it...the spell is broken! :D

Oxford were relegated from League 2 the same season we got promoted so we sort of took their place, spooky as they had taken Stanley's place back in 1962 when we had to resign from the league

York would have been nearer but their fans can be a nightmare - still would have been interesting to see how the Cheltenham stewards dealt with them?? :)
