With less rain forecast SM...I predict that 'Ilyas's Pitch' WILL prevail !!.

(And Newcastle United will not enjoy it one little bit !).

Fill a few bottles from any standing puddles and sell em at half time as Newcastle Brown. By then they won't know the difference.

They'll probably arrive in their kit, and leave in their kit (if the coach driver will let them on with muddy boots, that is) ;)

Liverpool arrived and left in their kit a couple years ago.
I'm certain it's not a north / south thing, the problem lies in the premier league, they're all a bunch of big girls blouses. :D

And SM !..Fred. that well-known Weather Pundit on Granada News also sounded quite hopeful regarding the chances of LESS rainfall in our area !.

Stanley Hope's that he is correct for once !.

Wasn't you that positioned that spray clayton end penalty area at half time grimps? soaking em all in the seating.:rofl38::rofl38::rofl38::rofl38::rofl38:

lancsdave 04-09-2010 18:41

Re: Pitch

The contractors were working on it this week, perhaps they have reseeded parts and the sand is there to try and protect the new seeding ?

Stanleymad 04-09-2010 18:52

Re: Pitch

The pitch was not good today very sandy noticeable when running on it and the ball was so unpredictable and didn't help. Tho the sprinkler at half time didn't half spray getting a few clayton enders wet lol

Let's be honest we need a new ground. We have spent £70,000 on a new pitch and it's not right, how many more times will that happen before it's good enough.

It did appear to me that for the Lincoln game Ilyas's pitch did play 'right'...so whilst we thank John, Jimmy, and their great team for their absolutely professional and entertaining performance, lets pass a sincere well-done to Buzzer and his helpers for producing a surface which was, undoubtedly, 'fit for purpose' !.
