Triallists

Information on the squad playing in the Joma tournament here: Stanley squad to take shape (From Lancashire Telegraph)

To summarise the situation re: triallists ...

Six players taken to Devon:

Sean Hessey (central defence)
Andy Parkinson (wing)
Ray Putterill (central midfield)
Rory Boulding (forward)
Jon Bateson (full back)
Michael Jukes (midfield)

Players no longer required:

Ben Hoskin
Danny McDonough
Dermot McCaffrey
James Bennett
Oliver Devenney
Michael Burns
Marc Manga
Vessoko Gramero
Ryan Kendall

Bateson didn't play in the Clitheroe game, but the other five looked good enough and I'm particularly pleased that we have a chance of signing Ray Putterill (but will Coley drop Proccy to accomodate him?).

I didn't go to the Heswell game, but from the nine players released, I thought Ryan Kendall looked a good, strong striker against Clitheroe and Ben Hoskin can clearly play at this level, but Jon Bateson (ex-Bradford) as been retained as the right full-back.

We still only have two forwards, discounting wingers.

Any thoughts from those who went to Heswell?

Interesting article to read, impling that even if we do not sort the embargo we can still sign players - so why the embargo?? 9 more ready to sign, so that would be the likes of Bavs, McConville, Winnard and Co. Leam still training with the club - so will he be staying???

Just hope that Coley can perform some miracles with the likes of Hessey and Parkinson!!!

Boulding has a Wikipedia page as may have been mentioned elsewhere on these threads:

Putterill and Parkinson looked the stand out players.

Fingers crossed we can get them

Im presuming we will be utilising the loan market to compensate the small squad?

"Implying" being the operative word, mate! The article uses that catch-all phrase "it is understood" so it's by no means certain that they'll grant us dispensation. After all, if the LT have their facts right, we will be asking for dispensation to register 16+ players! Even if they do, I would imagine it'll be temporary and they sure as hell won't be fobbed off with vague promises like "in a couple of weeks"!

unless i'm going senile it was "understood" just days before court that everything would be sorted!! n but fer the timely appearance of I.K. n P.M. that morning it woulda been, we would have NO CLUB. How much more of this crap do they expect people to tolerate?

Re: Triallists

surely Hoskin and Deveney clearly could have played a part at league two level.

I must admit I also found that a bit odd certainly with Ben:confused:

I believe Ben Hoskin was offered a deal but he chose not to accept it

Re: Triallists

Looks like Leam will only stay if the Club offer him a fixed-term contract, rather than the existing pay-as-you-play offer.

Richardson keen to stay at Accrington Stanley (From Lancashire Telegraph)

Re: Triallists

would hope he stays if a 12 months contract can be offered him.

Re: Triallists

As much as I like Leam, we have not had much return from him in the last 2 seasons, pay as you play can be the only way forward for Stanley, we cannot afford any more passangers!!

Don't think there's much danger of that Val, we can hardly fill a Mini at the mo. :)

I can't imagine Ben demanded the earth so can only guess it was a poor offer.
