Rocky got a bad press but he was made scapegoat for the mistakes of others quite often (certainly the lack of pace in players such as Mark Roberts/Michael Welch). I remember after the betting charges were made he played left back for the rest of that season due to injuries to King & Richardson. He played very well, on one occasion keeping Dany N'Guessan quiet for a whole game just before he was signed by Leicester. Now don't get me wrong, I wouldn't have Rocky back if you paid me, and he isn't a tenth of the defender Phil Edwards is, but he certainly wasn't as bad as his press made out. And he looked like Jodie Marsh.

More like Jody Banim, who we took on a loan from Shrewsbury for a month and then tried to send him out on loan ourselves before the month was complete :rofl38:

and those defending Rocky must be crackers, he was a conference player at best that made constant mistakes. Good riddance

Indeed - his best season was when we got promoted top of the league and that was because we were hammering teams so hard we hardly needed to defend.
