New striker signing!
Sky Sports | Football | Transfer Centre | Possible Deal | Stanley agree Gornell fee
Can't say I've heard of him! |
Re: New striker signing!
Now thats interesting, I hope this is right coz Terry was quality when he was here on loan and is just the kind of hungry young striker we like. He's not quite the big tree but he does put himself about very handily!!!
|
Re: New striker signing!
Paying a FEE aswell??!?
Could be interesting! |

Re: New striker signing!
Great player when he was last at The Crown, played well with Mullers, but think he will work very well with Lindfield..........
Another positive move. |
Re: New striker signing!
that IS a great move!
El Tel Gor Nell would do well in league 2 and it will give him the extra year or two to develop that League 1 might not. Very surprising though considering he has played every game for them so far this season! |
Re: New striker signing!
A fee??? When was the last time we paid one of those? Great signing if it happens, IMO. The final piece of a promotion jigsaw, perhaps?
However, if he's still involved at Tranmere perhaps I need to hold back on the excitement until it's a done deal. |
Re: New striker signing!
yesss this is the best news since last night, he was brillant when he came last time, he scored quite alot but went back early, him and lindfield upfront, magic, yes yes o thats ace, hes a quality player
|
Re: New striker signing!
didnt we pay a nominal fee for sean?
|
Re: New striker signing!
I think we paid about 11k for sean if my memory serves me right??
Gornell is a brilliant acquisition, he was quality when he was on loan.. lets hope he brings the firepower we need :) |
Re: New striker signing!
This would be he signing of the season if Coley pulls it off - great player - can't wait to see him in the red of Stanley again.
Haven't posted for months, but this is genuinely exciting news for all th'owd reds. |
Re: New striker signing!

As we all know he is a FANtastic player and is one of the final pieces of the jigsaw :) Just a pity that we might be losing part of the jigsaw soon  :( |

Theres ya link ..... I must say , that as a Tranmere fan this is the best news ive heard for a while. He might have been good when he was last at your gaff , but since then he's gone right down the pan. Cant control , cant pass , cant shoot properly. Saying that he might fit in well in League 2.... ;-) I can see him getting the winner on tuesday though.....probably bounce in of his arse or something. |

Re: New striker signing!
Now i'm a bit confussed here fishy site says we've signed GORNELL on a free BUT Tranmere web site news say LOANED striker GORNELL......:confused:GORNELL MISSING FOR STANLEY Click here for head-to-head stats
Team news for Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash between Tranmere and Accrington. Accrington will be without on-loan striker Terry Gornell when they face Tranmere in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy first round. Gornell joined Stanley from Tranmere last week and is ineligible to face his parent club under the conditions of the loan deal. Stanley boss John Coleman could also be without fellow striker Craig Lindfield, who has been struggling with a knee injury. Coleman will be hoping striker Rory Boulding (Achilles) is available to return and summer signing Andy Parkinson will be hoping to secure a starting berth. Defender Sean Hessey is also an injury concern as he is struggling with a knock, while Charlie Barnett has also picked up a knock and faces a race against time to prove his fitness. Tranmere look set to hand a debut to new signing Sam Morrow. The striker has arrived from Coleraine and joined Rovers for a nominal fee. Morrow left Derry in January to sign for Coleraine and joined Rovers on trial last week. He will be available to face Accrington if international clearance is received in time. Rovers boss Les Parry must decide whether to include Ian Thomas-Moore after the striker missed Saturday's 2-2 draw at Dagenham. The 34-year-old was a surprise omission from the Rovers team-sheet at Victoria Road with Parry revealing that Thomas-Moore, who has been heavily linked with a move to Rotherham, was unable to travel due to a knee injury. |
Re: New striker signing!
From current BBC Sports News;
"Tranmere v Accrington 19:00 Tuesday, 31 August Kick-off: 1945 BST TEAM NEWS Tranmere are set to hand a debut to striker Sam Morrow, if he gets international clearance in time. Boss Les Parry must also decide on striker Ian Thomas-Moore, who has been struggling with a knee injury. Accrington will be without on-loan striker Terry Gornell, who is ineligible to face his parent club. Fellow strikers Craig Lindfield (knee) and Rory Boulding (Achilles) are doubtful so Andy Parkinson could be brought in to deputise." I'm confused now too - I thought we'd signed him on a free ...... They don't seem to know what time kick off is, either |

Tranmere Rovers | News | Latest News | Latest News | Gornell Joins Accrington Stanley I can see Tranmere including a clause in the deal to prevent him playing tonight. Have people like the BBC seen that he can't play and just assumed it's because of a loan deal? Sloppy journalism again? As for a match preview, their fishy site just says it's coming soon. |
Re: New striker signing!

Re: New striker signing!
