FC United Share Issue and ground plans
Was listening to an interesting interview on the radio around lunchtime as FC United prepare their share offer to raise funds for a new ground.
It has been mentioned in these pages that they have a larger support than Stanley, which may be true on weekly attendances. However, they are only planning a 5,000 capacity ground..... I doubt Ilyas has got as far as the actual stadium design, but it seems a bit short sighted by the "other" United to limit the size to 5,000, bearing in mind their ambition and the fact that they have had 6,000 plus gates at Gigg Lane. The really interesting thing for me was that "investors" can put in between £300 and £20,000 to raise money for the new ground (I think), but are still ruled by the one member one vote rule in the constitution. I believe this is also the case at Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Some fans are scared, and some are excited, but with one member, one vote, if it does not work out, then you only have yourselves to blame |
