So at the moment.....

What's not working. There's all this negativity towards those in power at the club and if accyweb is to be believed every man and his dog wants' to see EW, D'ON and RH out or worse, but is this a true reflection. If John Coleman and Jimmy Bell came out and pointed the finger and demanded them out it would then be dire; but their not.

Ilyas and Peter's Donations saved them and the club; because of their generosity and love for Accrington Stanley we still have our Football Club. This goes without saying and no one should take away from what these men of Accrington have done, and I don't doubt that for one minute if anyone of us where so fortunate to do the same; we would have without question.

But looking at the wider picture; On the Pitch we are one of the best league two teams in the country and if not this season; surly it's only a matter of one more before we go up....again.

The Community element of the club is working well and showing signs of building respect and goodwill throughout the area.

John Coleman, Jimmy Bell and The Team; despite the reports of late contracts and late payment of wages are happy and pushing the boundaries of what's possible with very little money.

The commercial department is learning faster today then at any other time in its history and its paying dividends.

Say what you want about the board; and despite all the name calling and bitching they are still part of that team that make Accrington Stanley what it is.

Bad press is only distracting attention away from what's good at the club; people are so tied up with the negatives, perhaps we're not really seeing the bigger, brighter picture; its as though its not enough that we are what and who we are; Yesterdays Heroes have become villains and mates cross words with mates over who said what.

Get out and sing out what's good about the club and our exploits on the field of play, get everyman and his dog behind the gates and we won't need to worry about money, show investors and sponsors that "We're Proud of Our Club" Accrington Stanley; and we will buy you products if you invest in our team.

But keep trying to bring down those forenamed and we just might close doors and people just might stay away and keep their money in there pockets.

It's nearly 12 months since the heart of Accrington died; Rejoice and celebrate what Ilyas, Peter and an host of unknowns did for us and us for each other.

Lets turn a new leaf, buy an shirt "We're Proud of Our Club" and ware it, take a mate to the Crown, buy a pint in the Crown or the Club House, give chance a chance celebrate what's good, celebrate what's working. Work together.

I am not defending anyone; I not forgetting what nearly happened and I'm not forgetting what people did for us. Only time will change things; until then lets go out and sell the positives and lets see what happens.
:)

It's true EW has done a lot for Accrington Stanley, he got us back into the Football League, but then he left us for dead. Ilyas saved the Club and got no thanks from EW. Ilyas continues to bankroll the Club by paying wages etc. It is only a matter of time before he gets fed up of putting money into Stanley just to support EW and his ego and brass neck. What happens then ? EW has to go. Local businesses will not support or sponsor Stanley whilst he is there, he will bring Stanley down and into oblivion.

Thanks for the link on the other page Jeff; I'm with John Coleman all the way. :)

Not everthing we may wish for is going to turn out to be what we want. :)

Onfield stuff is the best thing since sliced bread, coley & bell have put the club where it is and could do way more whereas the backroom wants to do the opposite, and that wont change till ownership issue is sorted once & for all.

What we have is working.......some just don't like the fact that credit may be taken by the backroom has you call it. John Coleman give support to all at the club; why can't we get behind him and drive up that good will factor and get what he needs, people through the gates. Bitching about what we have won't do that. I'm not saying hug EW or hang him. just get on with what we have and make it work. Change isn't always the best road to take.

You are wrong mate, all the positives you have mentioned are from changes from the past.
And now we must make the final change, get rid of the hangers on and dead wood aka EW and O'neill.

Only then will we truely blossom.

Make no mistake, while EW and O'neill hang on, people will be turned off.

Indeed there are a lot more positives to be found off-the-field now than in the Whalley era. The great work done by the FitC people and Lew at the club shop are the main things, in my opinion. However we must learn from the past and not turn a blind eye to the murkiness and incompetence at the club. The cancer is still very much there in our club and we have got to kick it out before the next crisis comes along.

Doug, mate, you are so wrong about this. Any success we may have enjoyed recently is in spite of EW and DON. At any normal, well-run club there is ongoing accountability and dialogue between the owners/executive and the supporters. Show me one instance of this happening in our case. Where is the indication of their vision for the club? Where is the mission statement? There has been nil, zilch, zero at a time when we have been crying out for leadership off the field. They are taking the mick and anyone who can't see it must have their head in the sand.

I'm afraid Doug is right. He can see the back of the queue for businesses wanting to pour money in to the club. The rest of you can't see it because it goes past Accrington and you lot didn't realise how long it is :)
