Suspensions

Proccy and Bateson suspended for three games.

Should be able to replace with Putterill and Richardson/Hall.

Good to have a reasonable sized squad.

Re: Suspensions

unsure about puttrell for proctor, you need a physical presence as an holding midfielder in this league so i would go for murphy with puttrell coming in for a n other.
Good to see Burton on the mend,He will be a top player if he stays fit, hope he gets a run out soon,he deserves a bit of luck

shakermaker 14-10-2010 11:28

Re: Suspensions

If the formation stays the same, surely it ought to be Joyce (the League 2 Gareth Barry) in for Procter and Putterill in for McConville?

Re: Suspensions

Agree on Murphy.

I'd expect Razor to take Andy Parkinson's place in the starting eleven on Saturday.

football19 14-10-2010 12:29

Re: Suspensions

fair point shakermaker, but i think joyce is more of a ball player not ball winner, what about deano moved to right back and liam in at left back or just bring liam in at right back ( hes right footed anyway )
I would give owens a run at centre back to freshen things up ( but who do you drop). It would be a big decision to rest phil so it would have to be hessey

football19 14-10-2010 12:32

Re: Suspensions

what about owens in the proctor role ? food for thought that one,and we still retain a bit of height in the team

shakermaker 14-10-2010 13:13

Re: Suspensions

Maybe Coley will try something completely different and go with wing-backs? He seems to favour that kind of change late on in games. Something like:
Dunbavin
Richardson Edwards Owens Hessey Winnard
Ryan Barnett Putterill
Gornell Boulding

It's nice to have flexibility, versatility and depth in the squad for once; being able to play different formations that are less static than the traditional 4-4-2.

Agree with Owens Shaker, as Andy Proctor was the one winning most of the high balls from Goalkicks etc, and thus a bit of height at the back seems an imperative !.
Plus, someone with defensive pace to nullify the threat posed by 'the sneaky le Fondre'!, who, though apparently despised by many, still keeps on scoring on a regular basis!.
But having regained some confidence after the Bury fracas, the squad ought to be able to absorb the shock felt from the suspensions !!.

Re: Suspensions

Will be interesting to see the changes Coley makes on Saturday, nice to have a few options.

Can personally see Leam coming straight into the side at either full back postion.

As for centre midfield I think its a straight fight between Joyce and Murphy.

Good to have Razor back in the squad, though I think he might have to settle for a place on the bench.

Re: Suspensions

I would like us to go 4-4-2 and drop Parkinson.

He doesnt have the stamina to play effectivly for 90 mins and would be a useful impact sub.

5 Yellows gets you a ban, what happens in the case of somebody like Proc, who had a yellow before his red?? He is serving a 3 match ban, does his previous yellow still count, or is he back to zero???? Cheers for replies :)

Harsh decision from the ref (penalty would have been punishment enough even though Le Fondler seemed to start his dive outside the box) but the suspension could have been worse.

Nearly a team of midgets. Whose going to take Hereford's beast of a centre forward?

I agree but who do we have who is big enough in our squad to take on large strikers ? all our defenders are tiny in comparison. Rotherhams defender last week was chuffing massive. we need someone like that at the back.

Also in my opinion McConnville is very on off as a player. I definatley think its time we let Turner have a full 90 Mins. Good to see Joyce play last week. He was great for us last season and i thought he had another solid game last Sat.

Re: Suspensions

I agree about Sean, he just looks to lightweight but he has been scoring the goals.

As much as I love Chris he has disappointed me a little this season.

Fingers crossed he can get some more minutes under his belt

shakermaker 20-10-2010 16:52

Re: Suspensions

Dunbavin
Richardson Edwards Hessey Hall
Barnett Owens
Parky Ryan McConville
Gornell

More static than the usual line-up that has started for most of the season but we do need to plug the gaps. Owens is a bloody big plug. :)

Re: Suspensions

The whole point of having a squad is to use them whether through suspensions, injuries or changing the shape of a game.

These players must be chomping at the bit

But with football as Long probably found out on Saturday it is a big step up to first team from Reserve football and you probably need a certain amount of first team game time to settle back in and get "match fit".

I forget sometimes just how young this squad is and that also equates to a little inexperience at times in the number of first team games some of the squad have actually played and an "Old Head" syndrome in terms of competitive league games played can maybe be more crucial in effecting our game or actual game plan?

Has Hall even been on the bench yet ???

I reckon Leam will come into the side with Hall on the bench on sat,

On Tuesday night (26th October) we play Bolton in the Lancashire Senior Cup. If this is classed as a first team game then we should be free of suspensions by Saturday. I wonder if the Club have checked this out.

I would guess as it's a county match rather than a Fa/league match it won't count. If I'm correct then it's ironic really given the source of Putterill's ban

Re: Suspensions

Good try, Jeff, but Dave's intuitive answer is spot on. From page 321 of the FA Rules at http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/~/media/F...2010-11-v1.pdf:

FTCM are matches in the following competitions: FA Challenge Cup, FA Challenge Trophy,
FA Premier League, Football League, Football League Cup, Football League Trophy and the Football Conference.

FTCM is 'Full Time Competitive Matches'. And, yes, it's ironic!

Another good try, Steve, but the suspension is 'from all football until the Club have completed 3 first team matches'.

And, in my earlier post, I meant to say that FTCM is 'First Team Competitive Matches'. I blame my age, again! ;)

THE FA site says Proctor and Bateson are suspended from all football. Wonder why somne are suspended from all football while others are only suspended from first team football ? Presumably it depends on your sending off offence

Still doesn't list Putterill so don't know if he is suspended from all football or first team football

I'm surprised but it seems to be true. If anyone's got the time to follow it up, start at page 330 of the link I gave at 11:35.

Given what has gone on in the past and more recently with Putterill, I would suggest a good course of action would be to not take any risks at all, the last thing we need is more insult to injury!!!! :) :) :)

From the BBC Sports website;

"Accrington defender Jonathan Bateson and midfielder Andrew Proctor both miss out as they serve the final game of their three-match bans.

Midfielder Ray Puterill completes his two-match ban while Kevin Long misses the second game of a three-match ban."

Do they not read the Forum?
