|
Re: Stevenage thread
Cold!!!
First Stanley chance - 5 mins gone, Putterill finds McConville down the left who crosses for Putterill. Goalkeeper Chris Day pushes it away and Ray can't reach the rebound |
Re: Stevenage thread
Now they're coming! Odd...
It's 0-0. Stanley with the best and only chance so far |
Re: Stevenage thread
Try Sky Sport score centre & match reports round the grounds(audio), I flick between that & this to see what's happening, :)
Macc lads beating Bradford (Our next game) 0 : 1 Lincoln 1 : 0 Hereford = Stanley 18th |
Re: Stevenage thread

Re: Stevenage thread

On, Stanley On! |
Re: Stevenage thread
28 minutes gone and they've been fairly quiet minutes. Stanley have had one good chance, but other than that it's hardly been worth writing home about.
And winter is DEFINITELY here... |
Re: Stevenage thread
How's the pitch looking Dan?

There's a bit of needle in this one - a few challenges flying in.
I'm clutching at straws, drama-wise! |
Re: Stevenage thread
Better to be boring than getting beat Dan
|
Re: Stevenage thread
Lincoln 2 : 0 Hereford but they've still got a lousy goal difference so no worries ;)
|
Re: Stevenage thread
souns like we're missing a treat :(
|
Re: Stevenage thread
Pitch is looking... wet.
Crowd is looking... a bit sparse. Only 100 or so visitors, but Clayton end is noisy and busy as ever. First chance for Stevenage a second ago, Bav saving an effort from Lawrence Wilson |

Thats a bad stutter there Dan ...? :)

Re: Stevenage thread
Half time and 0-0. Described by a fellow hack as "a blessed relief"
Stanley had a good early chance through Putterill, but Stevenage were in the ascendancy towards the end of the half. Neither side deserves to be in front! |

Re: Stevenage thread
Barnet 2 : 1 Northampton (10 men) Half time.
Think Stanley will be getting a talking at by Coley then :D That should warm em up a bit ! Come on the lads ! |

Along with both sides from the lack of excitement. Someone gonna make sure Dan has a supply of warm pies and liquids? |
Re: Stevenage thread
I'd like that!
I've just had some leftover chips from the lovely supporters in front, so I can't grumble. Today's report could be about half time refreshments. There's little to report on the park... |
Re: Stevenage thread
Did the chips have sauce or vinegar on?
|
Re: Stevenage thread
The second half begins...

Re: Stevenage thread
Shrews 1 : 0 Southend
Stanley up to 17th |
Re: Stevenage thread
54 minutes gone. Still pretty poor!
|
Re: Stevenage thread
Accy Aggro!!
Every player bar Stevenage keeper in Stanley's area after a bit of argy bargy between Hessey and Holroyd. There followed the most girly melee ever. Still waiting for the ref to restart play. He's booked Hessey. I think. |
Re: Stevenage thread
Stockport 0 : 1 Torquay
Stanley up to 16th Bobby Grant scored for Rochdale |
Re: Stevenage thread
Bobby Grant scores for Rochdale

Re: Stevenage thread

|
Re: Stevenage thread
Excellent, a long awaited win & no goals against things are looking up, well done lads & thanks Dan.
Sitting pretty at 13th |
Re: Stevenage thread
3 points no goals conceded is a good enough reason to be happy for me. :D
|
Re: Stevenage thread
Very boring game!
but one goal 3 points and a very much needed clean sheet :) bring on bradford |
Re: Stevenage thread
Poor game Stevenage came to spoil n went fer a 0-0 draw, stanley deserved the 3 pts no question, worst ref i have ever witnessed, lost control completely, linesman also as much use as a chocolate fireguard, overall a welcome n deserved 3pts.
|
Re: Stevenage thread
Dour game lightened up by a class finish from Supermac:D
As Cashy has said the Ref lost the plot particulary in the second with some bad descions, leading to some rash challenges, some great acting and a wide spectrum of handbags on show:eek: Midfield passing was a little off the pace Special mention to Kevin Long who I thought had a very good game whilst just doing the simple things but he is now beginning to mature and is a good addition to the back four looked who were all fairly solid today. Three valuable points, a clean sheet and whilst not being a great game it moves up back in the right direction. Onwards & Upwards |
Re: Stevenage thread
first time for a while that i have seen a team try and intimidate and bully Acci like that, they didnt deserve anything from the game and Acci got sucked into there tactics.
Disappointed that on a few occasions Acci players pulled out of a few tackles and they took heart from this ( no names ). On the plus side i thought Long had a good strong game and looks like hes finding his feet now, |
Re: Stevenage thread
So the defensive woes are now behind us ? Or is there still work to be done ? Bradford were beaten today but Port Vale won theirs & these are pretty prominent games in the near future.
|
Re: Stevenage thread
agree wi pendle Long i thought along wi edwards were immense, have great hopes fer that lad, seems to be improving every game. just hope we can get another "Longer" loan fer him next time.;)
|
Re: Stevenage thread
Agreed. I thought Long would have deserved the man of the match award.

Re: Stevenage thread
was solid today a the back, and was good to see the centre backs being strong with the fullbacks covering when defending and giving width when attacking, they have obviously worked on defending on the training ground and keep there shape under pressure

Re: Stevenage thread
No disrespect meant, but I wouldn't want to watch Stevenage every week. The ref also left a lot to be desired. He could also have done with being a bit taller as well. I couldn't see him in the middle of the players when the trouble started. I thought he'd gone off.

Re: Stevenage thread
I haven't left yet, so for your consideration, here's what Mr. Coleman thought:

Re: Stevenage thread
Massive 3 points today, and nice to look at the league table again.
Holroyd should have had a red without a doubt, Roberts was as crap and annoying as he was when he played for us. Without a doubt they came for a draw, and massively pleasing we managed to break them down. Agreed the ref was clueless, however was superb to see the defence looking relatively solid again. Long had his best game in a reds shirt from when I have seen him. Jimmy different class, his ball in for mcconville was just superb. Good finish aswell. Roll on the short trip to Bradford on Tuesday. |
Re: Stevenage thread
Stanley hanging onto a lead? I must be dreaming. Stevenage had plenty of approach play but couldn't breach our back line, where I was really chuffed to see Long impress with a battling display. He looked well fired up! Great goal by McConville, but people round me were calling for him to be subbed prior to that. The goal perked him up, as he looked out of sorts with himself earlier, so let's hope he can carry that into the Bradford game. I really don't enjoy having criticised his game recently so I 'll be happy to eat my words if he keeps popping them in.
|
Re: Stevenage thread
It was quite a knock he took against the advert board earlier on the game aswell.
Well done stanley - bring on "massive Bradford" (in their own words) |

Re: Stevenage thread
watched the highlights last night, did anyone notice they all rounded on long when the trouble started?,obviously trying to exploit his inexperience.
It didnt work ! he just raised his game, thats the sign of a good player,he also proved he can play on the deck as well, hope he keeps it up now hes raised the bar |
