|
Re: Morecambe thread
Compliments of the season to you Danny boy.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Not a lot to report so far - Stanley haven't made too many forays forward in the opening nine minutes.
A key battle is looking like Long against Mullin |
Re: Morecambe thread
lets hope its a happy new year fer stanley, n dan.;)
|
Re: Morecambe thread
12: Superb save from Bav to deny Scott Brown a spectacular opener.
The midfielder pulled the trigger from 25 yards and the keeper pushed it away |
Re: Morecambe thread
Penalty to Stanley!!!!
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Charnock dived in on Gornell. Spot Kick.
Edwards... Scores down the middle 0-1 |

Re: Morecambe thread
Tasty derby this - aggro all over!
|
Re: Morecambe thread
26: 1-1.
Gornell concedes a free kick on the left, Stanley delivers and Chris McCready heads in the equaliser |

-Insert characters (representing expletives) that we're not allowed to..-

Re: Morecambe thread
Whats the weather doing in West Lancashire today people? I hope the worst of it is over-which I guess it is with so many matches going ahead..
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Edwards has just headed a McConville corner wide. Decent game now this.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Its only decent if we don't lose...
|
Re: Morecambe thread
John you big pragmatist...

Re: Morecambe thread
would be nice for a change to have a 2 goal cushion & anticipating a third - but Stanley still come with a health warning this term.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Two minutes added
|
Re: Morecambe thread
That's half time and a draw is a relatively fair reflection of what we've seen for me.
Gornell has posed the Morecambe defence plenty of problems but Stanley haven't had too many chances. Lots of needle around - it looks like Craney and McCready want to have a fight more than play football so far!!! |

Hey Dan, any idea as to how many 'Owls' turned up?
|
Re: Morecambe thread
It's deceptively cold at this breezeblock paradise...
2702 the official attendance. Maybe a couple of hundred Reds? Teams are out. |
Re: Morecambe thread
And the second half begins
|
Re: Morecambe thread
49: good work from Procter results in a Stanley corner
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Rearrange the words:
McConville first man the finds |
Re: Morecambe thread
53: Ryan drags a shot just wide of the Morecambe goal

Re: Morecambe thread
60: Almost a horrid moment there - Garry Hunter beat Jacobson down the Stanley left and crossed to the near post where Paul Mullin was sliding in... Two Stanley players got something to it and got it clear.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Sounds like its almost as exciting as the darts lol. Cmon Stanley let's put the game to bed.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
The second half has been a little grim if I'm honest...
|
Re: Morecambe thread
74: I can at last feel a little more comfortable.
Paul Mullin replaced by Mark Duffy for the home team. It's odd seeing him play against Stanley. His departure prompted a "one Paul Mullin" chorus from the Stanley fans... |
Re: Morecambe thread
76: BIG let off
James Spencer looked to be through as Dean Winnard came across and vainly attempted to get the ball. But the striker shot well over |
Re: Morecambe thread
Crane off and Putterill on.
Ian roundly booed by the Morecambe fans |
Re: Morecambe thread
80: great chance for Stanley.
Putterill burst away down the right before crossing low for Gornell, who turned and shot low, only to see Roche turn it round the post. From the resulting corner, Ryan saw a drive blocked and it fell to Jacobson outside the box. He struck it sweetly and Roche watched. It went wide. ****** |
Re: Morecambe thread
Ironic,,,we cheer one of theirs, they boo one of ours...:(
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Jimmy Ryan scores at will! 2-1
|
Re: Morecambe thread
82: GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!
It had to be. It's the rules against Morecambe. Jimmy Ryan does it again. Picked up the ball on the right and made no mistake. 1-2. GET IN! |
Re: Morecambe thread
YEEEEEEHHAAAAAAAAAAAAA take that you bad sports...

Re: Morecambe thread

Cracking result :)
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Nice one reds. Thanks Dan.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
A nice little ground, good fascilities, but a poor side. Stanley were the better team. Ryan played well. Paul Mullen missed a sitter (thankfully) The Ultras were great again, Stanleys second was worth the trip, well done Reds.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
2-1 to the stanley get in the driver home was good think sams days my be on him.

Re: Morecambe thread
Pretty much the same observation as Redraine, once Putterill came on for Craney there seemed to be a desire to carry the fight to Morecambe after we had been penned in for most of the second half whether Razor has a point to prove not sure but it certainly worked as an inspired substitution.
Not sure if Craney also had the same effect with Jimmy Ryan as well as things tended to try to go through Craney rather than Ryan which seemed to deter the foothold Jimmy normally has on games? But a cracking result that puts a bit of daylight between us and the Clubs at the bottom and means looking upwards instead of downwards. But this is such a tight league a run of three or four wins and we could be right back in the thick of things. I did miss the Old Christie Park which had a more football feel to it to me than the Globe, I am sure from a commercial point of view it makes sense but from a fans point of view I am not sure..... |
Re: Morecambe thread
first half we ran the game
Craney was very impressive and orecambe couldnt deal with him as was Ryan with Gornell providing plenty of movement up front, McConville also played well as a wide outlet. 2nd half Morecambe started to press us and we where uncomfortable under the high pressure with many wayward balls. They really should have scored with one of their strikers clean through blazing over the bar. A decent game despite the weather turning cold and the lack of pies for sale. |

Re: Morecambe thread
Maybe it is time to rephrase the Ian Craney song and substitute the words Ian Craney with Jimmy Ryan - it was a cracker.
Got to say, for a new ground, it lacks soul purely and simply because it is one sided i.e. one main stand and then opposite is a low wall. The acoustics were rubbish. The game itself seemed to be too one sided with Stanley sitting back and defending for long periods. Would like to see the stats. However, at the end of the day, it is about the team who sticks the ball in the net the most and Stanley did that today. Got to agree with others, although Ian Craney played well for most parts, Stanley impetus was far better when Ray Putterill came on. Lets all hope that he, Parkinson and others who are out of contract have now re-signed. |
Re: Morecambe thread
Fantastic result an away win at last. Jimmy and Phil best players by far. Tremendous strike. Thought Putterill showed much more determination than Craney and should have started and didnt feel Jacobsen had his best. Thought Mc Conville was weak and got out muscled time and time again. But if we can win with players certainly not at there best just maybe we can climb up that league. Bring on the next one. Well done stanley and the Ultras best supporters in the league did stanley proud.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Moving phil back to cb,deano movin to rb and jacobson lb seemed to work on the day,but they played 3-5-2 which seemed to pin us back 4 periods, should have worked the channels more, but overall acci did a job on them, Phil was back 2 his best in my opinion
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Agree Phil was back to his best. Cant understand whats happened to Bateson thought he had a good start to the season but seems to have disappeared.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
I can't start a new thread with the clip. So it's in the chat section of the Ultra's site.

This clip deserves to be seen in all it's glory, so I converted it into the best quality I could. hence the large file size.
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Anyway, Another marvellous penalty from the master that is Phil Edwards, a rather sloppy equaliser, and a magnificent strike from our best midfield player (please stay Jimmy).
The Globe arena has obviously taken over from Christie park, as Morecambe's bogey ground when playing Stanley, long may it continue. |
Re: Morecambe thread
STANLEY, PRIDE OF LANCASHIRE, again
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Cheers, as ever!!!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Sat up & watched it last night, but well worth watching again .... & again ....
As to Jimmy Ryans goal, class, a well taken effort. |
Re: Morecambe thread
cheers mate.;)
|
Re: Morecambe thread
Another 3 points from Morecambe, turning into an annual raid :)
A big win, and one that we needed badly. Thought Craney had a decent game and looked very busy in the 1st half, not fully match fit of course and was right to replace him. Winnard and Jacobsen's passing was all over the place, but to be honest I dont care, long as we win !! Bring on the spirites ! |
