Re: Hereford thread
At least our "little" defenders won't have "The Beast" Mansett to worry about. He's about to sign for Reading for a reported fee of 440,000+!!!!!

Re: Hereford thread
Here's the pre-match interview with Coley from the training ground this morning. You might be able to hear the lads in the background being put through their paces by the medical staff!

Just got home as working nights, temp fell to -5.5 overnight hope they had the covers on. Off to bed now so hopefully catch you all at the game if its on.
|
Re: Hereford thread
As long as the pitch is rolled and not rutted anywhere it should be okay by this afternoon. Just about 0 degrees now so should start defrosting soon :)

How many Saturday matches have been called off this season? The reason I ask is due to shift work I cant attend midweek games, and was wondering if I should forget my season ticket next season and pay on the gate.

Re: Hereford thread
I normally don't comment on any games nor on the cancellation (and the reasons thereof) of any matches, the reason being that residing in the smoke there are relatively few I get to see. However, I do try and work around a calender that allows me to get back to Accy around half a dozen times a year to see a home game.
Last week, I looked at the calender and decided to take the opportunity to take in the Hereford game. I checked the weather forecasts in advance and called a few people back in Accy and the picture emerging was that of a slight frost but no weather problems, so I came up on thursday night ready for the game. There was no indication of any problem friday; on saturday morning, it seemed OK; then saturday lunchtime, it was off. So it was a wasted journey - and not a cheap one, at that. Surely there should be some indication on the official site of a probability of a game being on (or not) during the cold weather period, or at least some indication of what is happening and what is the state of the pitch? |
Re: Hereford thread
will the morecombe game be on lol

Re: Hereford thread
Well at least we were not the only club to have the game called off - Bradford had there's called off for the same reason.
|
Re: Hereford thread
:) Accrington Stanley have the 4th highest Ground in the football league so it's not really surprising to have games called off this time of year, but at 516ft above sea leval we have a 50/50 chance depending on the weather and with temps at -5.5 last friday night /saturday morning in Accy their was little hope really :(.... for full list of grounds click on the link http://www.midfielddynamo.com/stadia...nd_highest.htm
|
Re: Hereford thread
Aren't we lucky? A ground that's not only one of the highest but also one of the wettest. But at least Ilyas got rid of the slope.

Who's said covers weren't on?? I was there at 8-45 and after a quick brew helped Buzzer to remove the covers. Don't re-call any Accywebs being there, but I could be wrong!! |

Covers were ON, over night. I believe they were on Thursday night as well, and were taken off Friday am to allow the pitch to "air" and then put back on Friday afternoon. They were certainly on the pitch Friday night. |

Cheers fer reply, clears that up.;)
