Bradford City Vacancy
Here we go again. Peter Tayor parts company with Bradford.
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
Funny how managers can appear to be top of tree then next it all comes falling down.
Peter Taylor England u21 manager, temp in charge of the full team and made Beckham captain I seem to remember. Shorty after I watched his Stevenage team play at Farsley Celtic and they really did not want to be there, nor did he from his mannerism. Wycombe promoted then left in a relegation battle. Laterly at the "Biggest Club" in Div 2 and still struggling, It makes you wonder how Coley would go on if he moved. |
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
I pray to god that Coley & Jimmy don't go, but the way things have been, no Stanley fan would blame them if they did go somewhere sooner or later.
Up to the club now to get things sorted off the pitch and give them the base to build on that they should have had 3 or 4 years ago. |
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
would doubt very much if they would be offered the job.
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
why cashman?

Re: Bradford City Vacancy
I was not advocating Coley took or indeed be offered the Bradford job, just wondering if Accrington and him are a perfect fit and would he be as successful elsewhere. After all Taytor must have had something about him to have managed any England side, yet appeared to be less successful at lesser club's

Re: Bradford City Vacancy
I was wondering when this would come round again.............. :(
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
i think they fit very well, accy certainly would find it very hard,to get a more successful manager, n as clint eastwood used to say- Know yer limitations.;)
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
John Coleman is quoted at 14/1 on a thread on the Bradford messageboard. There are 15 names above him with shorter odds though.

Stanley allow Bradford to talk to Coley
They best not be...

Re: Stanley allow Bradford to talk to Coley
I would think that it will be written in his NEW SIGHED contract that hes told of any intrest any other club have for his services Rob,plus a compensation package whould have to be agreed because hes got a signed contract with stanley IMHO.Having said that why dont you go away and leave our Coley alone:tongueout
|
Re: Stanley allow Bradford to talk to Coley
Yea, urinate off Bradford.
|
Re: Stanley allow Bradford to talk to Coley
There is at least one known admirer of Coley in the Bradford boardroom, and having gone down the ex-player route and the big-name route with no success, they might see our man as the one to drag them out of the (plainly ridiculous) mire they've been in for a while.
Nige B is the man with an inside track here - any news Nige? |
Re: Stanley allow Bradford to talk to Coley
I honestly dont know what we will do IF they go.
Nobody could deny them the challenge of Bradford City though. :( |
Re: Stanley allow Bradford to talk to Coley
££££££££££££££££ Will always talk at a time like this and let's face it, we ain't got any......

Re: Bradford City Vacancy
Merged 2 threads - dont start another till its a different topic & please dont use language - even in links, thanks !
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
One can only imagine what is going through Coley's head
Trying to prepare a team for today's game while the Google Page Ranking gaffes and off field antics continue to overshadow what should be an exciting time given results and what is at stake. Reassurances must be given and fast but even that may not be enough anymore? |
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
more concerned wi 3 pts today, meself, cross this bridge if owt develops.

Re: Bradford City Vacancy
He would have to be interested if he were to offered the post. Just look at the potential at Valley Parade. Their gate today was 10 times that at the Crown. 15,000 for a league 2 game.
At this level, Bradford City are a club that few managers would turn down |

Re: Bradford City Vacancy
Bigger club yeah, but bigger pressure too. He could stay at Stanley for another ten years, if it doesn't go well from the off at Bradford, he would be lucky to last ten months
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
Think they would be very interested in the post but doubt they would seriously be considered. i do feel they would take a few key players with them if they were given the opportunity though.
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
have from an ultra reliable source that bratford have appointed a temp manager and will then look to interview for a long term replacement......think coley may be staying

me too cashy don't think it would be a good move for him or them really they looking well over their shoulders and dare i say it us looking at the play offs (can't believe i said that)
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
Think John Coleman is too dedicated to Accrington Stanley , I know we have problems but if John was so sick he would have gone before now. But this is only my own opinion. Yesterday I was assured that the auction will not take place as our problem was as good as sorted when the Observer went to press.Shame it got to that.

Re: Bradford City Vacancy
Theres no doubt bradford is probably the most pretegious job in this league with the size of the club, fan base etc... but i seriously doubt they will be willing to pay off their recent 5 year contracts when, yeah granted there top proven lower league managers, but we arent exactly blowing this league away this season so its not a given that success will just happen, they will need time just like we have given them, however they dont seem as likely to do that

Re: Bradford City Vacancy
Confirmation on Bradford's temporary manager:
Jackson given Bradford City job for now (From Bradford Telegraph and Argus) |
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
well let's hope that he does well for them and gets the job permanently!
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
It looks like their fans have given a mixed reaction.
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
Hopefully Bradford win every game from now till the end of the season, except when we play them at the Crown!
|
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
According to their chairman today, There have been 40 to 50 applicants including three names which keep propping up before coleman. Phil Parkinson, Dean Windass and interim manager Peter Jackson. You would like to think that those candidates surpass our genius.

Interesting,................................
BBC Sport - Football - Accrington boss John Coleman eyed Bradford City role |
Re: Bradford City Vacancy
he doesn't say anything there that you would think indicates he is ready for the off - although you could possibly read into it that he was annoyed that we would have wanted a lot of compensation.
All in all, we have to expect that Coley will leave one day and it will have to be to a bigger club with a lot more potential than what we have here. |
