Mangan speaks on gambling.

In what is a truely gutting read for any football fan Andy Mangan admits that gambling is rife within the divisions below the premiership.

You say gutting, I personally think the FA should take him up on his offer ASAP. Yes he did wrong, he's done his time and now he wants to make amends. Lets just hope none of our current team are under any investigations yet it is still happening and up 50 cases have been reported. Get Mangan and others to go round visiting clubs to be held up as an example of what can happen

Interesting article. I must admit I'm bemused as to why it is illegal to bet on your own team to win. Surely that would give you extra motivation?

We said it was the tip of the iceberg at the time but it's a real kick in the teeth for fans who support them through thick and thin

How about if you know your ex-teammates are throwing the game ?

the second article is a far better read than the first, but I sincerely hope that the £800 wages mentioned in both were not what he got here!

They never threw the game. Watch the game on DVD...we should have won comfortably.

Last game of the season, rumour had it they'd all be on the bench as Coley was going to play the kids. Fearon in goal et al. They thought they'd sit on the bench and make a few easy grand.

A hideous disgusting thing to do yes, but let's remember nobody was found guilty of match fixing, only betting on the outcome. So what you say can't be levelled at Andy.

and to be fair to the memory of the incident coley had played the kids the previous week as well!
