Accy £50 Clubhouse Appeal.

If anyone from the Club is reading this message I kindly advise you to withdraw from charging supporters ANYTHING for drinking in the Sports Bar. Yes it is a nice little club with friendly staff but the questions what need considering to warrant the extra charge are..... 1, Is the beer better than the local pubs around? NO. 2, Is the beer cheaper than the local pubs around? NO. 3, Is there plenty of space to enjoy a half time drink etc with quick service? NO. Personally I drink in there to put a few quid over the bar to help the club. Im sure that anyone wanting a half time beer with a charge will now wait till full time and have a beer elsewhere. Please rethink this for the good of the club, this will cost money not save it.

Five of us S/T holders tend to go in Clubhouse, & have 2 drinks before, one at half time, plus the occasional pie (total expenditure approx 45/50 quid, times this by 20/23 games), we will NOT be paying 50 quid for the privilege of going in at half time, as we can get our pre-match drinks elsewhere, & only have to forgo the half time tipple.
Please, directors/decision makers, go figure!
Work out the maths, & if I am wrong, show me how you think this will not affect bottom line profits from the bar!

Re: Accy £50 Clubhouse Appeal.

Can someone tell me , how they at Accy Stanley are going to police this ? they are going to have to put 2 extra people on the doors , but yet still allow people too go to the loo at half time . As there is a DRASTIC SHORTAGE of them on the ground ??? And most arnt working !!!

The longer the Club wait to put out a statement on this particular subject the worse it becomes:(

There appears to be no valid reason?

Where did this story come from?
Any chance it started on the first day of this month?

It's in the season ticket brochure

GET EXCLUSIVE ACCESS
The match day experience usually involves a pie and
a pint so why not enjoy the day by grabbing the
early game on the big screen whilst soaking up the
atmosphere in our exclusive lounge.
Seasonal access to the matchday lounge will be just
£50 next year. [email protected]

I reckon that like the similarly ill-thought out all-ticket Oxford match idea, this little wheeze will be dropped before long.

Not being a Stanley fan myself, I don't know the people who's names are mentioned on here, by that the people that run the club, but I think the next time I'm in town I will be able to spot them quite easily, they will be the ones walking with a very bad limp, through shooting themselves in the foot.;)

I won't be paying the £50 either.

A COMMUNITY Club should be welcoming everyone to the Club and making them feel a part of something bigger than just the first-team. Ilyas had a 'vision' for an all-embracing Community Club; this reserves the Club for the Prawn Sandwich Brigade.

i will willingly pay the 50 pounds if there is a clause in that says we get 4 free pints every home game, then again i use to think that the moon was made of swiss cheese

Re: Accy £50 Clubhouse Appeal.

last week you HAD to have tickets for the Oxford tie, this week you can pay on the gate. It would suggest to me that the club have realised a mistake was made and taken steps to rectify it. I would imagine this will quickly follow suit. Unless they can guarantee that they will 'sell out' the lounge packages every week then this is the stupidest idea they have ever come up with.

I agree, but then it is only April. There's plenty of time for worse.

my wife and I go into the Club before every game and have a couple of drinks. We will not be paying £50 for the privilege making a total of £100 for the two of us. Disgusted, and disappointed. Not the way to gain support.

Re: Accy £50 Clubhouse Appeal.

In my opinion £50 just to sit and pay for your beer is a bit much. However there is an opportunity here that has been missed. The Sports bar, in my opinion is in need of a major overhaul, as many of us know it has some issues regarding the roof, the bar area could do with renovating and rejigging to make it a better service area and the back bar area could also do with a refurb.

If this had been me putting this idea forward I would have gone about it in this way:

I would have presented it as a way of sponsoring the revamp of the sports bar, £50 quid gets you exclusive rights to the bar pre & during game including the early football game on the big screen (wall!). Complimentary tickets for a free pint and pie, along with the opportunity to rent the bar out in the evenings for events at a reduced rate. Your name on a commemorative wall plaque stating that you helped to sponsor the revamp and also a picture on the sponsors page in the programme.

My way would have got the bar improved basically for free, which lets face it the bar does need it really. It would have given the scheme a sense of purpose and the fans a sense of involvement in the future of their club.

How many would have put their hand in their pocket for £50 if it meant they had a far better sports bar to have a drink in?

Just a thought!!!

Maybe they should have used the money given to do it in the first place. There is also the opportunity to have the walls lined with Stanley memorabilia.

Re: Accy £50 Clubhouse Appeal.

sorry Sparkie gotta agree with Dave. They were sponsored for 25k to do just that, and all they did was paint the walls and make some plywood tables. They then received more money, mainly from the osc inc the Rochdale walk money. I think all they did with that was stain the plywood tables. There was a little more to it but you get the drift.

25k ?

Ah I didn't realise that was the case, I had no idea that was what the dale walk money was for etc. But that aside, I still think my option would have been more viable than the one they are offering!!! lol

Re: Accy £50 Clubhouse Appeal.

Well Rob Heys has defended the idea in the observer, saying that hospitality interest has increased and the lounge pack is a comercial decision - not to snub fans but a great source of revenue for the club and hope to spend more money on the crown pub so that it becomes the supporters base before & after match!

MMmm crown is too small for a start! Can see its not gonna go down well with a selection of supporters :(

I'll let you all know what 'proper' hospitality is like next week got a feeling the basics will blow me away to what im used to here hahahaha:p:D

Well I hope people get a table to put their drinks on and a chair to sit on for their £50 cause as it is now it is as cramped as Trumpton before a game at the moment.

The other question would be if walk on prices, season tickets and admission to the Clubhouse is going up are the rates for match sponsorship?

I am far from thrilled as many on here are of the prospect of not being able to use the facilities unless I pay a season's coverage and it is something that is difficult to take but if the Club can afford to turn supporters away from the lounge unless they pay £50 then fair enough.

I really hope not. Several of the last few matches I have been to have been sposnored by Hyndburn Council. I'd prefer to see the council staff pay to get on instead of using my council tax ;)

We all know the lies RH has spouted over the last few years, he would be straight out the door if I was running it, but alas hes there and there is nothing we can do other than put up with his garbage.

The issue as a whole as I have already mentioned doesnt bothar me as I go in the Crown, however at the last home game of the season (Barnet) , myself and 9 others have a table booked with a meal etc and have got it for £22, which is a superb deal.

If we enjoy it there is no question we would have re-booked for a game (if not 2) next season.

Unfortunately if the club now wants £50 on top per person than they are im afraid, in cloud cuckoo land.

The standard price is £320, how come you got it so cheap ?

if you have a table booked for a game then that would be your admission. The fifty quid is just for the great unwashed.

So effectively your getting a reduction for your approximate season ticket value ? Didn't know they did that, seems a good idea.

smudgie 14-04-2011 17:01

Re: Accy £50 Clubhouse Appeal.

Its on the site mate.

£22 for a pre-match meal per head.

Then we will go to watch the game in our normal places, then back inside for the Presentation Evening, going to be 1 LONG day :)

God help my head the day after !! ha

Not seen it but there again never looked for it :D

Maybe it's something they should publicise more, for example the blurb for this Saturdays game on the main site says

Quote:

An ideal opportunity for autograph collectors, tickets for the lounge cost just £35 each and include a three course meal, your programme and teamsheet, exclusive pre-match talk by assistant manager Jimmy Bell and a seat in the main stand.
Perhaps they should automatically add in the season ticket offer.
