Ewww I don't like it not one for skin clinging stuff or the sleeves on it from what i can see - i so much prefer our current joma kit tbh

Re: new kit preview?

Love it - only thing I'm not too keen on is the Samurai logo

smobile 14-04-2011 14:25

Re: new kit preview?

Don't like the white trim on the sleeves, apart from that, looks ok.

maccawozzagod 14-04-2011 14:39

Re: new kit preview?

I'm not over keen on the sleeves meself, but I don't think they'd look quite the same when all the badges etc are applied. Also it's hard to tell without a sponsor on how exactly it will look.

Anhy news on a sponsor Lew or will it go on sale without one?

Hi,
These images are of a 1st sample ELITE not the REPLICA which is a much looser and traditional fit and for anyone who would like to see it in flesh we have both the ELITE and REPLICA sample in store.

Come and have a look, see the quality, see the sublimation of the logo, see the design close up, see the fit of the replica. It is the centre piece of the store and will be until launch.

As for the sponsor, it is something that the commercial department is working extremely hard on, but at present there will be no sponsor for the launch shirts unless there is breaking news shortly at which point logo's will be applied as normal and in time for launch.

I think it looks superb to be honest !!!

Much prefer with no sponsor, proper old skool :)

Think ill be going for the replica version, unless I lose a few stone by the start of next season :)

maccawozzagod 14-04-2011 16:42

Re: new kit preview?

so if it is being sold without a sponsor on are there any guaranteed plans to add them on at a later date for all those who have already bought one?

I'll gladly spend a weeks giro on one but not without the sponsor or the promise of it, as that then wouldn't be a replica

DaveinGermany 14-04-2011 17:02

Re: new kit preview?

Not quite sure about that, something about those collars seem a bit iffy, but who knows it may just be a bad piccy, I'll tame my ardour for the time being. :)

To be honest it looks like something you might pick up in Primark for £3.99. Just doesn't look like a football shirt to me.

Hi, well they are not on sale just yet sir so they shouldn't be in anyones hands but mine just yet? ;) should a sponsor be found between now and launch then they will be added on before launch day itself, if not then they can be added on at a later date. It's a simple process of heat transfer which all sponsors use for shirt logos. Yes, plans are in place for this, plus those that do not want a sponsor on don't have to.

As they say the choice is yours?

I actually went in to look properly before passing the final judgement as with the black joma shirt & fell in love immediately, sadly it didn't happen for this kit it's just not for me at all, so will remain in my lovely old shirt till the next new shirt :(

Cannot say I was over inspired to purchase one, lets see the finished article with all the badges attached, but as others have said, the broad white band on the sleeve just does not do it for me.

It seems i may be going against the flow here, but I rather liked the retro look of the replica shirt, the tight fitting one tho is not for me, I have more of a party pack than a six pack lol.

First. I offer an unreserved and sincere apology to Lew and his team for the comments I made about the new kit. I've see a mock up of the Replica shirt and I'm buying one; Excellent kit. The shop looks excellent compared to previous seasons and the Stanley range of goodies is looking good.

I loved the quality of the rest of the new kit line up; the training jackets are excellent as is the Fleece and the hoodies. I will be buying three or four items of clothing.

Second. Very impressed with Lew and the young lad in the shop. I left filled with confidence that those behind the scenes are working with a passion for the club and they will ensure that we will always met with open arms and a warm welcome.

Thanks Lew.

Doug you have probably stumbled across something there that perhaps we take for granted in that the Club Store for most of us fans in that it is the first point of contact with the Club.

First impressions are lasting impressions and it is similar in most things in that if you are treated in such a way you are made to feel comfortable and enthused the tendency is you will revist again and again.

Customer service is a key fundamental in any business and one that the Store scores highly on:)

always good to hear when someone has good words to say about something Stanley, and as Pendle Red says, Lew and the shop always score highly in that department.

As for the kit I'm not a huge fan and as with other it's the bands on the sleeve that are way too thick for me, looks like bog paper shoved up the sleeves!!! But as ever I'll be buying one anyway - just not yet as I'm skint and there are way too many big expensive matches coming up shortly .....

This is a very positive move all around well done to Martin to bringing it to fruition.

Just looking at the Blog on the CleverBoxes website oozes professionalism and a forward thinking partner in business particulary sponsors can only bode well for the future.

Good Luck to both Stanley & CleverBoxes for a long fruitful future, furthering and enhacing the ambitions of our "Great Little Club":alright:

PS It also caps off a very fine looking shirt:)

C'mon JT where did you get this snippet of info, already announced that the team would play in the new strip against Barnet! But I have to agree, we have a good unbeaten run in hte old strip, 3 more against Barnet could see us safely in the play-offs and the Bees relegated, dependant on what Northampton and Lincoln do. I'm slightly suprised at it because it's a one colour version of the corporate logo. A lot of companies are very protective of their company on branding. I know there is a clash of colour but I thought they would have stuck to the corporate logo with a white trim round it to stand out. Then again I suppose that then wouldn't be the true image either :D

Re: new kit preview?

yes indeed Dave. A few weeks ago I optimistically touted Cleverboxes (might have called 'em Thinkboxes - sorry) as a potential investor to the club, but never thought it would actually come off. They seem like a really clever company (see what I did there) and have their heads screwed on right. From what we have read, and heard a couple of posts ago, it would seem that Cleverboxes really want to push the brand and quite rightly will be using their sponsorship of the club to do this. Let's hope that the club do not cock this one up by making any of the many errors we've heard of previously. In fairness the people have/are changing at the club so hopefully those days are gone. With a bit of luck and improvisation we can ride on their coat-tails for a bit and vice-versa. Maybe both parties can learn a few things along the way as well?

Good luck Cleverboxes and welcome to the club (and forum)

The other question is what is classed as a change of shirt ?

I think the new sponsor will definately get some publicity today :)

Boomer 05-05-2011 06:14

Re: new kit preview?

I saw the shirt last week in store and unless it was a prototype or sample to get sizing for pre orders I thought it looked very very cheap. The logo/baxge was printed on not stitched !! Looked like a cheap knock off you see when on holiday in them dodgy Spanish markets. Not impressed in the slightest. Just hoping the one I saw wasn't the finished article. May just get this seasons again if it is the case. Joma did a great job

Re: new kit preview?

When is it available to buy ? they had quite a few on the rails when i went in last week. I thought as first that maybe they just had samples in every size for people to try on who where looking to preorder.

I really hope that the ones in the shop arent the finished product cause they arent worth £40. The design on the promotion photos looks ace, im just hoping that the finished article doesnt disapoint.

I`m going in tomorrow to get my playoffs ticket i`ll get some shots taken and ask some questions. Lewis is usually the man in the know.

Just a point, Boomer..if you're not taken with the new shirt, then an excellent alternative is the Panther Leisurewear shirt. It's black with a red "slash" across and features the club badge. Available in polo, t-shirt and hooded top designs. I bought the polo version last Saturday and liked it so much, I'm going back in the buy a t-shirt next week! :)

you might be onto something there
I saw Coley wearing that the other day and thought it was smart.

lewis will put a name on back as well i`m betting. Altough with Jimmy "the Brazilian" Ryan going to LaLiga the chances of having him on the back are looking slim.

I'm sure he will, being an obliging chap. Wore it when I went for a beer in mine and Lew's local the other day and received a number of favourable comments from the assembled City/United fans! :)
