Mmm, although "If you believe you are a shareholder" is a phrase rarely seen in AGM announcements in my experience - hopefully all who bought the £250+ SOS share packages will make themselves known and successfully claim their rights.

I know a couple of people have worked hard trying to get the list updated and correct. I guess the writing on the back of fag packets becomes difficult to read after a few years shoved in the back of a cupboard.

Hopefully ALL shareholders will claim their title, I'm not one of them but it must be good for those who are to know they now actually exist in the eyes of those in charge :)

I am one of the people who bought into the SOS appeal. E-mailed yesterday and got a prompt response saying the club would be in touch with the details later (as it says on the fishy site).

They were being proof read on Wednesday so I would guess they are now imminent. :)

Well at least they are now published on the fishy site, at least your comment sherry brought a smile to my face, my comment was supposed to be tongue in cheek lol

Re: Accrington Stanley AGM

I like the idea of purchasers of the shares being given a pay monthly option that will bring the option to more people and that has to be applauded. :)

More emphasis being put on the Commercial side of things again something that any aspiring Club has to go forward and break down barriers to succeed with.

Great to see that transfer fees will not be wholly swallowed in infrastructure but also allowing John & Jimmy a distribution to strengthen on the field as well.

If a new ground is/was to be built looking at the costs how would the funding of the project work?

The answer was in the minutes of the AGM

Quote:

The aspiration of building a new stadium in the future was discussed. The club had discussed with the Council about the Hyndburn Sports Centre Site in Church. It may cost between 6 and 7 million pounds of which Ilyas would provide £2 million. Peter Shaw (director) confirmed the Sports Centre as a potential site that could include a possible hotel, conference facility, restaurant and other sporting facilities. Again, this is an aspiration for maybe 2014/15.

It's a prime site for one of the stayover hotel chains, Travelodge, Holiday Inn Express type chains. Add to that the ability to have conference and gym facilities on the same complex and the hotel chains will jump at, building a football stadium as part of the cost would be a small part of the budget to them

EXACTLY the point ive been trying to make Dave.

We know for a fact the club by itself does not make enough money on its own, therefore to amalgamate it with other retailers, business's in the area is the logical step forward.

I beleive he has had a long connection with Stanley so presumabkly it's the same one. I think it's spelt Pervez. He's been looking after the commercial side since Martin left.

1-1 a good game hanging on a little bit towards the end but a very impressive performance against a team who won the competition last season.
