shame about Putterill as well. He could have been a like for like replacement for Jimmy, but seems that hes not impressed at getting told to get fit before getting an offer.

Taken from "Oldham Rumours"

Oldham are ready to get two keepers in the next two weeks with Acrrington Stanley keeper alex Ciask coming in for a compensation fee of 30k and oldham are ready to sign Ben Amos on loan for the season.

Looks like lessons are being learned, one year contract with an extension built in. Coley is obviously going to make sure he doesn't have this summers problems :)

Howdy all
Hopefully have an interview with Danny Coid up on the fishy soon and a bit of a round up of training this morning (a few pics essentially)

It's turned out to be a busy day!

LLS - I'm aware of one or two audio problems with this morning's effort - I can only apologise. This is a new camera and it's the first time I've used it. I will endeavour to make it a little clearer in future. JC does speak quietly though!

This whole video thing is new(ish) for us all and hopefully as we go on the quality etc. will improve. As Dave alludes to, today was slightly flying by the seat of the pants stuff!

Try the Danny Coid one and see if it's any better.

Again, apologies and hopefully improvements will be made!

Re: 1st Pre season traning

Just on Jeffers, Coley was very clear this morning that he's not on trial or anything like that and is simply maintaining his fitness by training with Stanley as he looks for a new club. They've known each other for quite a while and it's basically mates helping each other out I think.

On the general point of trialists there are a couple of lads from Burnley as discussed earlier, a couple of last year's youth teamers who've been offered the chance to try and impress and one or two others as yet unidentified (by me at least!)

Hopefully all will become clear come pre-season friendlies time!

Both released at the end of the season. Both have good potential but no experience & both of them central defenders. Kudiersky is 6ft 1" and Lynch is 6ft 3".

Probably a shame they have been around when Burnley had the brief spell in the top flight, otherwise they may have broken through.

Personally having seen them in reserve matches I think both are as good as Kevin Long. I think Kudiersky slightly edges it but would need experience at the side of him bending his ear to concentrate a bit more.

By the way Cashy, Lynch is a Blackburn lad :D

Quote:

Stanley are understood to have turned down two bids, described as ‘derisory’, from Oldham for Cisak. The keeper is out of contract but cannot leave for free because he is under 24.
The same is true of Gornell, which may been the stumbling block in Inverness’ attempted swoop.
Accrington Stanley wait for news on duo (From Lancashire Telegraph) Isn't it good to know stanley arn't excepting derisory offers any more like in the past!!weldone stanley

Obviously Ray needs to prove his fitness, but im sure a full pre-season he would have done it.

Re: 1st Pre season traning

But.... it looks as if Ray couldn't be bothered to come and give it a try - that says a lot, I think. Also, if, as someone says, Turner is now training at Barrow, it looks as if he's finding his level.

He's obviously not been inundated with league offers!! I never thought he was THAT good - and I reckon Coley must feel the same. As I've always respected Coley's opinions of players' talents, I'll repeat - looks like he could have found his level. Of course, you could be a better judge than both of us! However, it's all about opinions, so I suppose we're all entitled to our views.

SORRY your wrong!! although your right about having your own opinon.JC and JB Tryed to keep Chris thats why he was offered a new Contract.Chris turned it down and oppted to leave the club, sole reason he wanted first team football and JC could not promis this specialy with the system which stanley use!!! Have to agree with oldgobbin this time regarding Chris Turner.
He has ability, but so do hundreds of other lads trying to get into league football.
Watching over the last two years,he doesnt seemed to have progressed.
You could argue hes not had the opportunity, but to force your way back into the team, you have to at least be the best player on the pitch when playing for the reserves, all the games ive watched,he wasnt.
I am always rooting for young lads to do well, but you need desire and a good attitude to do well and no more so in Colemans teams.
I believe hes a great lad, maybe he needs to be more focused on what he wants and go 100% for it.
Regarding Putterall,at the end of the season,he looked a stone heavier than at the start, that answers a few questions and JC was right to question his fitness and condition ( his ability is not in question).
Murphy is a central midfielder(proccy type),but on here he gets judged when playing out of position,I will sit on fence till he has a run in his favoured position.

Disagree with you he came on in the Burton game and made an immediate impact and in the game against Doncater should Turner not have come on we wouldnt have got through to play Newcastle. He was proving he was good enough but it counted for nowt he still didnt get the start he deserved. He wasnt given the opportunities that others got simple as. Good luck to yhe lad whoever he plays for.

Now that really is a worry. There are certain requirements for all footballers, but especially someone in central midfield. These include (a) the ability to win the ball in a tackle; (b) the ability to head the ball; (c) the ability to pass to a colleague; (d) the ability to find space to receive a pass; (e) speed and athleticism.

Murphy played a few games in holding midfield alongside Jonny Flynn at the back end of the 09/10 season. For what it's worth I thought he played fairly well in these games. I don't think he'll get a run in central midfield this season as we have Procter, Joyce and Craney signed up, hopefully with Barnett and McConville filling the wide roles. I don't think Murphy will offer strong competition for a starting place but he's adequate (and cheap) cover.

Re: 1st Pre season traning

Agreed Shaker,Also hes still only a young lad.
Technically,he looks ok,he just has to work on his basic speed/pace,which is probably why he struggled when up against a quick winger.
Then again ,Proccy playing at fullback may have the same problems

Re: 1st Pre season traning

Quite agree about Murphy. I think he gets a lot of undeserved "stick" on here. He's not a world beater but, given time and encouragement, which I'm sure he'll get from John and Jimmy, he could develop into a very useful League 2 player. I really hope he does it with Stanley!
