Jpt

Here's our section this year:

Northern Section - West
Accrington Stanley
Bury
Carlisle United
Crewe Alexandra
Port Vale
Shrewsbury Town
Tranmere Rovers
Walsall

Hopefully we'll play the kids, get knocked out nice and early; get this ridiculous excuse for a cup out of the way.

With the size of our squad cashy mate we're going to need those kids in the league games!

I think that after we were 'encouraged' to resign last season, that we should treat it with the disdain that it deserves. We shouldn't even have entered .....

Not being a Stanley fan I was actually surprised to see just how small a squad Stanley have when I saw it in the Observer

would assume it was the chance of extra revenue that dictated we enter for the paint pot

Was probably the Football League dictated we enter for the paint pot. I don't think we get a choice.

I'd be amazed if any club made money out of the paint pot unless they get to Wembley, in fact I reckon some would even make a loss. I agree with Jeff, I think it's compulsory.

Sheff Wednesday got around that last week by making all their subs in the first 19 minutes, their manager said 'you have to start with 6 first teamers but it doesn't say in the rules that you have to finish with them' Mind, his ever so slight bending of the rules didn't do 'em much good, they were beaten by Bradford if I remember rightly

Burton in for Craney then !! No captain though !!

football19 06-09-2011 11:32

Re: Jpt

Think i would give proccy a rest(he deserves it)wouldnt play burton in the three,so you could move murph to RB and bring Burto in.
Would have liked Deano to play CB,If fit, give hessey a rest, but cant see it

Re: Jpt

Bet he was not, I cannot remember him being subbed before?????

Re: Jpt

Well a very enjoyable night at the crown despite the weather!

Pie & peas before the game was superb value, i hope they repeat it for the Tranmere game.

Pitch looked superb, at last they have sorted it, well done buzzer!

Full credit to the lads for the comeback. Fletcher looked a class apart when he came on, im praying we can keep him all season. Guthrie looked a shadow of the player he did in pre-season. All he is lacking is abit of confidence, it will come. Just look at Lindfield who looks a completely different player on the right hand side than he did up front last season. His workrate was fantastic, and he fully deserved his m.o.m and goal (finally)! . Next target is a League strike, who needs mcconville?!

Well done to amond aswell who looked delighted after scoring his 1st for the club.

Thought young Tom Bender did pretty well, especially in the first half, considering it was only his 2nd first team game.

My god Bavs doesnt half give me nightmares though haha!

Bring on Tranmere.

Re: Jpt

Mab,Dean was unhappy due to him being ill and being left on when struggling to breath . Things are looking up as I agree with smudgies assessment of the game, except he didn't mention craneys performance.the guys got a great football brain, but his fitness is pulling him down IMHO , don't know the answer,as I would always pick him

Are you Coley in disguise???? :D

Re: Jpt

How can you, always pick someone??

Hahahaha absolutely ridiculous.

cashman 07-09-2011 13:41

Re: Jpt

i agree wi football19, reckon every team needs a player who can turn a match, n craney certainly can, does need to be fitter though,no question, but some never seem to praise the guy when he does well.

football19 07-09-2011 13:44

Re: Jpt

Smudgie,I have always worked on the theory, form is temporary but class is permanent !!.When starting games imo he runs out of steam, that to me is a fitness issue.
You cant deny when hes on his game he is class!,but last night after the first 30 minutes he started drifting in and out the game, and eventually got subbed (20 minutes too late!).
At present i would still run with him,on the hope he builds his fitness up,others may disagree:)

football19 07-09-2011 13:53

Re: Jpt

Smudgie,i meant i would always pick him, with the players available at present!!!,:),if jimmy re-signed i would get rid lol
