Should be double at least

You would think with the time they have had they could have come up with a more complex solution instead of that simple one :D

Re: Jimmy Ryan fee

Bargain fee for that calibre of a player.

The sell on clause could prove profitable though.

The fishy site says the potential transfer fee comes to £170k - they aren't fancying Scunthorpe's chances of promotion eh ? :p

Comes into play if they go up this season or next, apparently :o

If that's true then imagine Stanley playing Scunthorpe in the last match of next season, whether in league 1 or League 2, knowing that, if we lost and Scunthorpe got promoted, we'd get a £25K payout! You couldn't make it up, could you?

Re: Jimmy Ryan fee

Promotion to the Championship only I'm afraid.

Good deal for scunthorpe. Reckon he would have been potentially worth more than that to us this season, but the board might disagree. Probably 10 home league games of takings at the turnstiles there.

Would be more than 10 once you factor in the salary we would have had to offer to keep him. And legend as he is he could not have git us promoted on his own so I don't reckon we have done too badly out of it, considering it was our club that made the monumental error of not initiating new contract talks earlier than they did.

To be honest, he - along with a few of the others who went - were offered good contracts and in the correct time scale, if the players chose to go, then it was their choice and their right to do so!!

:) :) :) :) :)

Re: Jimmy Ryan fee

That's a ridiculous fee considering he was a virtual ever present for three seasons, league 2 team of the year player and was being courted by various clubs.

By that argument I'm reckoning on about twenty quid for Gornell

Re: Jimmy Ryan fee

On a plus note though, it is currently looking good for Bobby Grant and sell on fee's as he is playing and is currently top scorer in League 1
