Re: Shrewsbury match thread................
We played good football again! Exactly like we did on friday night! Kept the ball with flowing football and kept passing it to feet.
We had NOTHING and i mean nothing upfront. I have no idea who was upfront as spray and paddy were both on the wings or in midfield! We passed the ball for hours but just had no end attacking product! I think we had 1 shot on target maybe! But that was an easy save! Have to say that Winnard And Kev Long were very very good! Especially Deano! Kept Shrewsbury at 1-0 And so did bavs who had a good game! No team was in control but shrewsbury had an attacking threat when accy had non what so ever. Proccy being subbed again after a very poor game sums it up! Shrewsbury are an alright side and will do well if they keep that tricky fast winger they had. Caused Kev Mc to have a nightmare as couldnt get close to him! Also you cant expect your team to do well without supporters going to games. Attendance for away fans was 70 last night! With a home crowd on friday of 1400 im sure we could of managed 100 to 150! GET ON BOARD AND SUPPORT THE TEAM! |
Re: Shrewsbury match thread................
Went last night and sort of enjoyed the game despite the result.
First the negatives, they played with 2 forwards and 2 wingers,so we out-numbered them in central areas, but never really capitalised on it. Indeed,fc Stanley was correct in saying we had some decent possession, but no-one tried to go forward or be positive, once again isolating Sway up front. Now the positives,The gaffer realised this and made a triple substitution, and we had more of a go. Mcintyre had his hands full with a very fast winger, but with 5 midfielders, who helped him?,un-believable really. We had no one in the centre prepared to put a foot in,and switched off too often for my liking. Highlight of the match was the battle between there two forwards(very good players) and Deano and Longy. They were quick and one 6-4 tall,so it was always going to be difficult , but it was a good contest in tricky conditions. For some reason i am still optimistic, and enjoy watching young lads trying to develop a career in football---keep the faith:) |
Re: Shrewsbury match thread................
Hi all you Accy fans...
I thought you did ok last night, not the worst team we have seen this season by a long shot. Sorry, but I disagree, Kevin Mc had a decent game on his own....no support from midfield, and did manage to keep close to Lionel. You played some decent stuff last night on a slippery surface, but you had absolutely nothing up front...our keeper did not have a save to make. Morgan had a poor game last night before he went off, and is indeed a handfull given his size, but he does miss a lot of chances. We don't have many options on the park at the mo with quite a few injuries, and I thought we were very poor last night...no spark at the moment. You need to get a big man in the middle who can hold it up on his own. Gornell has a bad cut on his knee and was not risked last night. Joe provided the cross field ball for Ainsworth to get into the channel last night, but it was very nearly cut out, can't remember by who though. I do hope you get sorted soon and start getting some results, lets get rid of the thugs from Dagenham and the dumboes from Valley Parade. We all have a lot of respect for ASFC and what you have achieved, but where is your support? By the way, is the Thorn a good drinking hole? Was up there on Monday. |
