Did well in the "closed door" friendly.

Don't knock Jamie C, apart from Jimmy R, name the recent Stanley players to score 3!!

If the new guy gets 3 in 3 games he'll join young Peter as our top league scorer:)

Re: New Loanee

What a waste of a talent Jamie clark was.He did miss almost a season with injury when around 18/19,but was very unpredictable and his heart wasnt in it despite being a great prospect.
I believe hes not playing now despite being around 23,very sad.
Remember him tearing barcs Piquet apart against man utd resis ,scoring a superb hat trick.
Think he scored a hat trick for Acci as well somewhere along the line.
Never reached his potential, but when fit he was lightening.
Heard good reports on young Banton, and is capable of taking on and beating players, just hope he doesnt end up as a target man with back to goal, its not his style.
Through balls are his bread and butter as he is quick

Re: New Loanee

Jamie Clarke scored an hat trick against a very poor Grimsby side just before Christmas 2009, that was the only time he had any impression on any game. The only other thing he did in his time at Stanley was to demoralise Paul Mullin, from which Mullers never recovered.

Clarke had no desire to play at our lower division football ground, and it showed. He also couldn't get away from the Crown Ground fast enough, he said something about needing to prove to Big Sam what a great player he was. He then went off to Lincoln and couldn't be arsed there too.

Blackburn Rovers | Team | Reserves | Micah Evans

Only here for a month but it's a big month for us. From what I've heard maybe he'd be more suited to playing in our attacking three playing off Guthrie as like football19 says he doesn't sound like a back-to-goal player.

Welcome to the lad, spray didn't cut it fer me, so aint much of a loss.

Re: New Loanee

If you asked me,I would have given him a run in Almonds position,Who plays upfront?,Craig,Gutherie, paddy, dont know!!
Thats what Coley gets paid for:)

Is there any limit on the number of loans we can have in a season?

Ill be amazed if there is a fee for any of our loans. Premier League clubs and the clarets arent exactly short of a few quid.

I would be amazed also, was refering to the % of wage to be paid.;)

Re: New Loanee

I thought that per season you could only have an aggregate number of loans.

Has that rule been scrapped or am I mistaken for thinking it ever existed?

lancsdave 01-11-2011 12:27

Re: New Loanee

No more than 4 players under 23 and 4 players over 23 can be on standard loan during a season. Standard loan is half season or full season. Doesn't seem to apply to month long loans.

No more than 5 loan loan players can be on a team sheet for the match.

If you want some bedtime reading here you go :D

I would be massively surprised if we where paying any wages for them .

Re: New Loanee

They should be paying us for the privilege of affording them first team football.

Re: New Loanee

Stanley might well set a league record this season for the amount of players they have given, or are going to give, their league debuts to.

Your right !!,just hoping to come across another Jimmy Ryan etc..
Hopefully the squad will settle down in the near future and a settled team emerges.

I'm hoping they have in young Barnett, who fer my money is coming along very nicely.:)

Re: New Loanee

Cashy, always liked Charlie and if he doesnt lose his focus will be a tremendous player for Acci.
If he is in the mood, hes an hand full, and thats my only reservation.
He should be pushing himself to his limits every game and with his undoubted talent, should be dominating games.
If he gets a good level of consistency,he will develop quicker and hopefully progress up the league ladder.

Re: New Loanee

I think Coley should pair the new lad with Guthrie up front and go for it. I know you can "Never win anything with kids", but we just might. Doubt that he will, though, but it will be good to have some genuine pace in the forwards for a change.

Fletcher had pace, but wasn't used correctly imho.

Re: New Loanee

Barnett shows promise, but like others say, it's when he applies himself. He could be as good as, if not better than Ryan if he puts it the effort in...Hopefully Coley and Bell can keep nurturing his undoubted talent.

And yes, Evans supposedly has pace....to me time to ditch the predictable "one up top" especially when at home....but the question begs to be asked....

With so many midfielders on the books, will Coley mix things up a little????
