Simon Garner

Just watched Halifax Game - Seems to me Garner may be worth another look at. Put himself about well and looks like he has a good engine and an excellent attitude.

Lets keep it on thread.

Did the Halifax Garner pay for stanley youth team while Coley was there ?

His list of clubs is nearly as long as Steve Claridge's, wonder why ?

That fast pacey forward Halifax brought on looked promising.

Re: Simon Garner

The stewards looking after the Charlton fans also looked familiar too :D

Sam Garner played just the one season. The Simon Garner playing at Halifax could be the same one who played in our Reserve Team in the East Lancs League 2000/01. He was a moody player but had some talent, he seems to have grown up a bit, or perhaps not if he as had a lot of clubs.
I think his Dad was managing Clitheroe for a while.

the Simon Garner playing for Halifax lives round the corner from The Crown and played for the Youth/Reserve team probably 10 years ago as he is 28 years old. There was a full page on him in Th'Observer last week

and while we' re on the subject of Halifax its nice to see they finally the big stand. although the old away stand looked lonely with just flags in it. I hope they get back to our league soon as I always enjoyed the Shay

Was there a couple of weeks ago Cashy think the ground is owned by the council now they pumped some 5 million in i believe, as for the food (now done by an outside firm)you would be better off rooting in a bin for the remains of friday nights kebab as it would taste better and if ya think macclesfields prices for grub are a rip of well get yerself off to Halifax, example £1 for a packet of walkers cheese an onion.

Link: TV star Garner is out for a Cup upset | Accrington Observer - menmedia.co.uk. The article says that he's now a fireman in Preston. So it would take quite an offer to persuade him to give up a decent salary and a public service pension.

He's not good enough for stanley. Nowhere near. There's better players in Accy Combination. He was year below me at school. Good on him if he's getting a couple of quid for playing though.
