Hmmm ..... wonder what name the poor old Crown is going to go by .... Colane Tropical Mineral Water Park would have been appropriate last season, but it looks like the drains have been sorted now :)

Re: New Sponsor?
In view of the problems we've had in recent years, let's hope that the deal is watertight; in fact, mineral watertight.

i work at colane tropical mineral water, my boss has asked me to come on here and ask you what you would like the ground to be called?? obviously it has to include the colane name... we need a decision by next week so any suggestions are welcome :) |

Very happy that you people have taken this step. If you must rename the ground I can only see "Colane Park" working. Don't really want to see anything cheesey, tinpot or any more tat linked to our Club. Thanks for having the faith to invest. :) |

on a more serious note though, its very rare that the fans get any kind of consideration on something quite major so its in our own hands to make the suggestions for them to take on board. Get thinking folks!

Excuse my ignorance, but is there not a difference between Stadiums and Grounds???
Crown Ground, Fraser Eagle Stadium??? West Ham springs to mind, or is that a one off??? |

The Colane Stadium.
|
Re: New Sponsor?
Definitely nothing with the word 'stadium' in the title. Or 'arena' for that matter. Good grief.
Colane Park sounds good. Think that's the best. Grand to hear about new sponsorship. |
Re: New Sponsor?
Very funny!!!!!! Thanks for pointing that out Cashy.... :D :D
|
Re: New Sponsor?
I'm with Doug and Shaker on this, Colane Park, simple and rolls off the tongue easily......just my 2p worth!
|
Re: New Sponsor?
I'm with the Colane Crown Ground. At least it's not totally changing the name only for it to be compelety changed again in 18 months time of they don't renew or somebody else offers a better deal.
|
Re: New Sponsor?
Quote:
I'd be happy with that. |
Re: New Sponsor?
I was going along with Doug's simple, easy to remember suggestion until I saw smobile's 'Colane Crown Ground' idea. If the sponsors are happy to go with that then it seems the best option.

Re: New Sponsor?
Colane Tropical mineral waters ltd park. If it was my company and I was paying. But as a supporter Colane crown ground is about right. It wasnt interlink stadium and Fraser stadium was it? Company name is surely what its about for maximum exposure for the sponsors. Whats st james called now? the sports direct arena. Not paying for chuff all are they?
|
Re: New Sponsor?
I'm not against the "Colane Crown Ground" but I was under the impression that parting with hard earned cash on a sponsorship deal meant you had the opportunity to exploit you name, goods, services in a way the maximise your investment.
In the new world vision for Accrington Stanley would it not be prudent to distance ourselves from the recent past and create a new vista for the club that meets the company's aims and having a degree of input ourselves; we've come up with three or four suggestions in what I have to say is a very restrained response to this offer. We have to think deeper if we are going to exploit this opportunity without giving somebody else from outside the opportunity to come in and floating some cheap tacky slogan that’s media savvy. The Crown Ground is Historically our home and will remain the grounds name for most of us regardless of any deal until it's levelled and like Peel Park fades in to a memory. Let's embrace this opportunity and come up with a least 9 or 10 variations that look forward and will tempt the company. My two bob's worth. Colane Park. Colane Community Stadium. |

My two bob's worth. Colane Park. Colane Community Stadium.[/QUOTE] Agree will always be the crown ground to the man paying at the turnstiles. But on sky sports, football league show and computer games fifa 13, football manager, champ manager and national and local papers match reviews etc etc its giving advertisement for the brand name to the company who is stumping up cash to support the local team whilst also gaining national and international recognition through the most watched sport worldwide. And obviously that should be the selling point from the asfc marketing team. If they said it has to contain crown ground I honestly cant imagine a look-in. The suggestions above seem good. |
Re: New Sponsor?
Just a little update for you all....
We had a meeting with the club today regarding the advertising around the ground so I thought it would be the best time to bring up what the grounds going to be called... Rob Heys and everyone we have asked have agreed that Colane Park is the best option so well done Doug!! :) I understand that alot of you wanted the Colane Crown ground but as a company its just not viable because there has been a considerable amount of money put into this and obviously we want to have as much exposure as possible... we believe and Rob Heys agrees that adding the 'crown' takes away what we are trying to achieve. We hope that it doesn't dishearten some of you too much, we have tried to include the fans in this decision as much as possible and as you now know it was someone from this forum who's suggestion has got the final thumbs up. We just hope that you are all happy with the final decision and we hope to be able to work with the fans in any future plans that we have for the club. So get yourselves to The Colane Park on the 17th against Torquay, try out some of our water and fruit juices, get behind the team and hopefully get a win which would be the perfect start to what we believe will be a long and exciting partnership with the club and its fans. On Stanley On!!! |
Re: New Sponsor?

Re: New Sponsor?
ultimately very sad for those that have lost their jobs but after looking at their concept of 'Brazillian water with various tropical fruits' how deluded would you have to be to think that was going to succeed and why as a start up business would you want to include in your business plan ....sponsor a football ground! Sorry another bunch of jokers!
|
Re: New Sponsor?
No its not funny how people lost their jobs cause I used to work there , its funny how he thought he could get away with scamming people. I know everything that went on in that company, all our cheques bounced, and so will Stanleys.

Re: New Sponsor?
It is true about colane shutting down as I have also lost my job but I didn't find that out until I turned up for work after Christmas and no one was in.. lovely people :-\
I would also like to apologise to everyone on here because I came on bigging it up and trying to. convince everyone that it was all legitimate and turns out I was being fed with information from a person who has turned out to be a compulsive liar and for it I feel like such a tit! I guess with being ng a Stanley fan and having a chance to work with the club while working and getting paid for it was like a dream come true but anyway it wasn't meant to be... surely the club had checked his finances like they say they had but then again who knows, he showed me proof but to guess anyone can put some numbers on paper. once again, i feel like such an idiot and im sorry for leading you on hopefully the club can move on from this and carry on climbing the table without jokers like colin swindlehurst messing them around On Stanley On!! |
Re: New Sponsor?

Re: New Sponsor?
Thanks for the comments! :-) Yeh I know this and there's nothing we can do about it now, I just felt like such an idiot seeing as I was the one updating you on everything telling you how rosy everything was, and then this happens ... and regarding a press release or whatever I honestly don't know like i said I went in this morning and no one was there so I made a few calls and was told it has closed down, just to clarify I haven't had any official confirmation that the company has folded but I'm led to believe that others have
