Lewis Carroll

:( Sad days again at Stanley :( Was at the club today, thought i'd call in as i was off work to catch up with Lew as you do!!:) Wasn't ready for the news that he greeted me with thou:( Sad to say i've handed my notice in and will be leaving stanley on the 24th December after accepting a job at Prem-side STOKE CITY:)... Well i was gobsmacked to say the least, and even more so when lew said (quote)
"I’m sure you will understand that I really don’t want to leave this club and a project that is half finished either, " (unquote)While i'm happy for Lew which i truely am and wish him well and think its a fantastic oppotunity for him and under standy why he's move on,leaves me thinking what is going on at the club.As far as i can see the retail arm of the club is making money and doing nicely,so why let a top man like Lew move on makes no sence at all to me.having said that Will miss you at the club Lew.

I will keep it short

Lew has done a great job at Stanley both as Commercial Manager & Retail Operations Manager

He for most people has been the face of Stanley and always had a smile and a few minutes for everyone, had great ideas, was innovative, was passionate, a superb help for the Supporters Club but by far for me a great friend.

Lew you will be massively missed and I wish you every success in the Potteries.

Good Luck:)

Very sad to hear that. Lew brought a real breath of fresh air to the merchandising deepartment with his innovative ideas and positive attitude. Don't know what's behind it, but the club can ill afford to lose talents like Lew! :(

Re: Lewis Carroll

All the best Lew and thanks for all you have done for the club.

I took two friends to the club shop the other week and Lew gave us a tour round the ground - they were really impressed so one bought a shirt and they will be going to the Morecambe game and thinking of a half season ticket for January.

I can only echo what others are saying. Well done Lewis for all you have acheived over the past few years in both your stints at the club. As others have said, your over-riding quality is the way you deal with people and the positivity that you always displayed.

Stanleys loss is most certainly Stokes gain so good luck with everything down there pal.

Good man, always helpful, especially with me being abroad, it's just a shame that Lew's heading for pastures new. I feel that the management are letting things slip badly. :(

It beggars belief how people can criticise the club for this. Some people...

Best of luck Lew as you go onwards & upwards. Thanks for your efforts.

Gotta agree with others - best wishes for your new job at the potteries. Our loss is most definitely Stokes gain

Re: Lewis Carroll

Sad to see Lew go - I can only make it up for a few games a season, but was up with a mate from Devon towards the end of last season. We popped into the shop and spent 30 minutes with Lew, had a stadium tour, heard his thoughts for the future and he really couldn't spend enough time with us. My mate (an argyle fan) spent £75 in the shop and has never stopped talking about the personal touch he received from all at Stanley. Good Luck Lew - First Impressions count and every time I visited the shop, nothing was too much.

Didn't see this yesterday, only just caught up .... takes a bit of he shine off today's win over the Wombles. Great job with the shop over the last few years. Not sure how people think the club is supposed to stop someone resigning to move on, though ???

Best of luck Lew.

A genuinely nice bloke. Remember turning up at the club last Christmas when we had all that snow. The game had been called off but Lew was still there and the shop was still open.

A great ambassador for the club, always helpful & a genuinely good guy as previous posters acknowledge. Was particularly helpful in sorting my grandson's kit a couple of months back.

Wish you all the best, Lew, hope we still see you posting on here!

Re: Lewis Carroll

Wow, just read through these messages and it's really humbling to say the least. I just wanted to say a big thank you really to every one who has supported both the club and the work that we have been doing over the past two years.

Many of you are not just supporters, but real friends and while I will be leaving the club on the 24th of this month I do intend and hope to stick around just for match days, just to make sure things are ticking over until someone else comes in. So do come in and say hello.

I've loved every working minute over the past two years and just like Mr shultzy and everyone else affected by the cuts, we had to look elsewhere I suppose.

See you all Saturday and don't forget we have loads of good gear in this year for Christmas (shirts apart, although confirmation of their arrival is due!) So spend your tenner / twenty and get yourself sorted for some top quality merchandise.

Really touched by the comments. Thank you.
