Re: The extremely early Bradford thread .......

It's Valley Parade v Avenue Parade and I expect Accy to get a draw at least. We just seem to raise our game there. :) Remember the LDV triumph? ;)

"Cup kings Accrington wasted no time in making their mark on the LDV Vans Trophy as their first appearance in the competition produced one of its biggest ever upsets. The gap between Bradford's Premiership status and Stanley's place in the UniBond League First Division has been whittled down in the last four years. And at Valley Parade on Wednesday night it disappeared completely as Accrington sent their League One opponents crashing out with Lee McEvilly's last-gasp winner capping a stunning performance from John Coleman's side."

Macclesfield falling deep into trouble as things stand - Hereford, Daggers and Cobblers all winning, so they're 2 points off last place and the bottom two have games in hand. Larry Lobster must be a bit concerned .... :o

Sorry, Plymouth, not the Daggers (but they are drawing, which Macc ain't!). Cobblers 2 up ......

Re: The extremely early Bradford thread .......

Just think if he plays the full 90 minutes he would be scoring about 25-30 goals a game :)

Fourth season in a row that we've drawn 1-1 at their place .........

smudgie 06-03-2012 22:00

Re: The extremely early Bradford thread .......

Well a draw was probably a fair result. We had 3 great chances in the first half.

Ref had a poor game, but as always ill take an away point, especially with 2 minutes to go. :)

Hatfield must start on Saturday, scored a great goal, well done Will :)

Nicholls in goal looked class, made two cracking saves and looks solid.

Toto looked miles better........ At Last :)

Coidy had a poor game, but obviously wasnt fit, but I dont suppose we have any defenders left really !

Just looking at the ages of the starting XI, it really was men V Boys and we did ourselves no harm at all tonight.

Onward and Upward as they say.

Re: The extremely early Bradford thread .......

My 2p's worth, and I rarely go to games so it may not even be worth 2p: Most of the team were anonymous, but some stood out.
Coid had a very poor game, often out of position and every clearance went to a bantam.
Keeper did very well, some good saves, and tried to start things from the back along the ground. Commanded area well and came for the right balls.
Amond did well with no service.
The really noticeable things were that we were forced to lump it forward and their centre halves were massive. We were forced to do this because there was an almost constant 30 yards between our midfield and forward players, the exceptions being the first and last five minutes or so when we put Bradford under pressure and looked much the better team. We lacked shape for the remainder.
We didn't really play well enough to deserve a draw, but neither did Bradford and so in a round about sort of way a draw was a fair result.

Ref was very poor for both sides.

Re: The extremely early Bradford thread .......

Made up with last nights result, its never an easy place to go and get something,so well done.
Footballs all about confidence and some of the younger players will get a real boost from the last two games.
Looks like Cooky has tweaked his tactics a little, and made us a bit more compact.
Like to see a bit more of Hatfield, looks a bit of a player

Re: The extremely early Bradford thread .......

Maybe this was in response to the treatment apparently handed out to the returning James Devitt last night?
"Bradford assistant boss Steve Parkin called Accrington 'amateur' and 'unprofessional' over the way their bench celebrated their late equaliser at Valley Parade last night. Parkin claims he was sworn at during the injury time celebrations that brought Stanley's first point under new boss Paul Cook.
"

It looks like we could have won, here is a still from Charlie's offside,

http://www.accringtonweb.com/forum/a...1&d=1331311031

it's really tight but I say it's not offside.

It is really, really tight - even with that freeze frame you couldn't say whether Charlies head or boot are ahead of the last man - so you can't really blame the officials.

Shame it didn't stand though it was a cracking finish.

Does he mean it wasn't Premiership style celebrations? After all they are "a sleeping giant" who really shouldn't have to mix it with us small insignificant clubs(!)" Talk about sore losers, or drawers, in this case!:dummy:

Re: The extremely early Bradford thread .......

The Bradford management can give good value. I remember Stuart McCall offering a pair of goalkeeping gloves to one of our defenders after their goal line clearance was thought by Bradford to have a touch of hand about it.
