Smith & Liddle both gone..................

Smith has returned to Charlton, season ending knee injury :( . Shame I thought he had some talent the lad. Dont know what it is about that number 21 shirt at our club this season !!!

Liddle has also gone back, due to the fact he is banned the next 3 games.

Cooky looking for another loan defender........................

......... and so the merry-go-round continues !!!

Real shame; I really wanted to see young Smith on the end of Devitt's crosses, and - although not Kevin Long sized - thought Liddle had a lot of promise too .......;)

Thanks lads - maybe we'll see you back one day ...........:)

I've been impressed with Liddle but I hope his tackle at Southend wasn't the equivalent of a 'blighty'. Shoot yerself in the foot and get sent home?
After his performance at Swindon, maybe it's time for Peter Murphy to assume the role of CB?

I'm still not entirely convinced by Murphy in defence. I'm sure I'll be in a minority here, but the main times I've seen him shine is actually going forward - he seems to be able to run at players rather well and I'd personally be interested to see how he may do down the wing without having to worry too much about potential counter attacks.

As for Smith & Liddle, I wish them all the best... we didn't see too much of them, but they both seemed to be bright sparks.

I know what you mean about Murphy, but then he's been played all over the place in his time and never really looked settled.
It's just that, admittedly only once at Swindon for one half, he seemed to be very comfortable as the right-sided centre back.
Stanley will need someone big and strong against Northampton on Saturday what with Akinfenwe (according to one newspaper) being the league's top scorer. Don't suppose anyone knows Godwin's phone number?

72 hours and still nothing official from the club.

Has Liddle really left us or just gone back to Sunderland during his ban?

The club can only post what is official, presumably his ban takes him past his loan period so until the loan period officially ends there is nothing to announce. Technically I don't think the club can send him back before his loans up, but I would guess he's gone home for now, no point paying his expenses to sit and doss down here :)
